I cannot send emails with Enigmail enabled. This is probably since the last update to 2.0.12 (!). Automatic update on Linux Mint 19.
I can compose a message, but clicking the send button does nothing, nor does Ctrl+Enter.
I can save the message to drafts and then send it via webmail.
Disabling Enigmail solves the problem.
Could not find debug info, please instruct me.
First, it may depend on the operational mode of Enigmail. Is the Enigmail menu labeled "Enigmail/pEp" or "Enigmail"?
You mean in the menu bar (had to activate it to see)? Enigmail.
In a message it is called Enigmail/pEp
I can make a mail, try sending it, won’t work (without any error message), switch to add-on manager, disable Enigmail, send.
Made a log-file of this.
Aha, console says:
enigmail> /usr/bin/gpg --charset utf-8 --display-charset utf-8 --no-auto-check-trustdb --no-tty --batch --no-verbose --with-fingerprint --with-colons --import-options import-show --dry-run --import
gpg: no valid OpenPGP data found.
gpg: Total number processed: 0
gpg: no valid OpenPGP data found.
gpg: Total number processed: 0
So it seems like the problem is the failing key, but I would have expected an error message at least.
I have tried importing and refreshing my key again, set the account to use a specific key, then it works. So the problem seems to lie with pEp.
So far for now, if you want more testing to do, please ask.
From the log, it looks like you're using the pEp mode, but that seems to fail.
Run the following command from a command line, then restart Thunderbird:
rm -f ~/.gnupg/gpg*.conf.[1-9]*.pep.bkpLet me know if that solves your issue.
It seems to work now, yes. Thanks. Strangest thing: on one account I use pEp, on the other I do not. Now both work.
Other little bug: with compact header extension on, the decoded subject in the message pane (not in the inbox pane) remains ‘…’
OK, I won't fix the bug with "Compact Header".
