Xev reports:
I have found a way to get around losing experience
when fleeing, just have your pet rescue you then
recall. Not sure if you intended on this or not..
Just seems a little redundant to lose exp when
fleeing if its easy to get around such as this.

Should we disallow pet's rescuing at all? Seems to me that
either it should be taken away completely or we should have
the pet randomly attempt to rescue when it's master is
being attacked.
If your pet DOES rescue you then certainly you should be
able to flee but if you do your pet should stay behind and
either kill the mob or die.
If the mob is killed the pet should probably despawn or
something. What do you think?

Right now NPC's can't fail on rescues.
I have an idea on this. I am going to derive a percentage
of the NPC's level of the MAX_LEVEL and compare that to a
number_percent and that be the chance of rescueing.

Okay, NPC's having a chance to fail is coded and submitted.

Here is my rational for putting in a chance of failure:
Rescue is a skill that is often used in groups. Especially
when going after big mobs. Thief backstabs, tank rescues.
It is a process I think that goes back a long ways. I
don't have a problem with you not losing EXP when you are
rescued, but I do have a problem with it succeeding all the
time. Being rescued was not intended to cost you exp.
NPC's when they rescued ALWAYS succeeded. This included
pets. Now NPC's have a chance of failing. I don't really
feel pets show be prohibited from rescuing at all.
However, how about you can't flee if your pet is still
fighting?

There is a semi-fix for this in, and I don't see it as a
showstopper for 0.9.45

Alright, I like the "can't flee if your pet is still
fighting" idea, but is there a way to order your pet to stop
fighting? SHOULD there be? I mean, that could still be
used as an exploit (assuming your pet succeeds in rescuing),
but there are possibly times when you NEED to order your pet
to stop fighting...
What does everyone else think?
