I'm not the drummer, but we have a cheap ddrum kit (DD1 
http://www.ddrum.com/dd1.php). It's crappy, but I'm considering building 
my own set of edrums with a DIY midi module that will plug into a PC.

PS. I can't get drumgizmo compiled. I've got Ubuntu 13.04, which doesn't 
come with the dev packages. I've figured out the ones I need so far, but 
I'm stuck on QT. I can't figure out which dev package I need for QT. 
Would you rather me put this in the drumgizmo site?

Drumgizmo is very suitable for playing live from a midi controller. I can
use it quite well with my Roland TD4. It is quite different from hydrogen.
It can get a lot better, but it is usable, at least the git version. Maybe
you will have to adjust the midimap file.

Thank you for spotting this. The project is interesting, especially
regarding performance judging from what has been written in the above
thread. Better link drumgizmo project there. This project (edrummer) is
inactive, it requires a lot of work to reach the current state of gizmo and
I really prefer to concentrate on one project that can do things right.

Btw, do you use an e-drumkit or a midi-keyboard? If the case is the first,
what drum-module does it have? If you could provide feedback it would be
very helpful.

Hey, I thought this might be a better way to communicate than the wiki 
page. I didn't see this before I found the wiki. Sorry.

I've looked at drumgizmo, from what I could see, it is more like 
hydrogen, in that it allows for creating drum patterns and plays those 
back, but I haven't seen that it is meant for playing back drum sound 
from midi, or, at least, that playing from midi is not it's primary goal.
