Promise you won't kill me...I made a huge goof. In the Project Settings,
Search tab, Publication ID, I thought I was typing random numbers/letters,
but I actually typed the same letter combination in the two courses, so it
found both course content.

The software is only as smart as the user.

I think this is a wrap before I drive you crazy. You should release it to
the general public.

There are two possible issues here - one is that EClass creates a 
Greenstone "collection" and this collection may contain old files. The 
other is that EClass' pub folder may actually contain old HTML files 
from long ago. Delete the Greenstone collection and the files in the 
pub folder, then do a "Refresh Theme" and publish again. I'll have to 
think of a good way to delete these old files without accidently 
deleting what's needed.

When I was at the office yesterday, I was working on Win2K machine. Today, I
thought I would try to replicate the Greenstone problems on my WIN XP
machine. I am no longer getting the problem ("There are 0 ways to find
information in this collection: "). I tried on another Win2K machine at home
and still no problem... This one seems to be isolated to that one machine.
Let's leave it at that.

However there is a new problem, the search is finding pages from previous
(EClass) collections. I deleted everything in the C:\Program

It seems all new collections get put into the exported_collections folder.
Shouldn't they be in seperate sub-folders?

Sorry, I must have missed this bug report. I see the problem and am=20
working on a fix.

I haven't seen this one before... ;-/ You're using 2.50 right? BTW, are=20=

you using the 2.38 server or the 2.50 server? If 2.38, try with 2.50=20
and see what happens (besides the obvious "page not found" problem.)

Yes, it's now a part of the Greenstone distribution so you don't need=20
to install it.

We have got a small problem with EClass/Greenstone Search Results. The
search works fine, but the results point to the EClass root directory
instead of EClass/pub/ directory

Thanks for pointing out the search issue for the web site. That should 
really be for the next release, so I should be able to remove it for 
this release. I'll wait a day to see if anything else is reported, then

I think we have got a winner. I have found no bugs, give me a day but I
think this one is ready for general release.

I have got a few recommendations for the next version:

1.  If you enable search (swish-e)and publish to CD-ROM, then publish to a
Website, the "Search" is still available in the TOC, but does not work on
the web.  I would recommend either removing the "Search" from the published
website version or enabling a web search engine. I have used PHPsiteSearch
http://php.warpedweb.net/sitesearch/ on several of my online EClasses and
found it to work well.

2. Imported files should open in a new window not the main window. I still
get a lag when I open Acrobat files and it would be congruous with how media
files open.

OK, I finally figured this out. There was a bug when you don't specify 
the "/" at the beginning of the directory name. EClass needed to add it 
but it wasn't doing that. So I think I've got this one fixed. =)

It's supposed to do this already, but obviously there's a bug

I wiped the errlog.txt file and tried uploading with passive FTP unchecked.

Two other things:

(working with 2.5.4.15)

I have noticed if you have a bookmark and a hotword with the same text, you
often get part of the tag appearing in the EClass page. Is there anyway to
get EClass to ignore text inside of the tag <markers>?

Suggestion:
Using the "Default (no frames)" theme, I like the EClass branding and I
think we should do it for the "Default (frames)" theme, too. I suggest you
have the "Built with EClass" link to open in a new window.

I have tried this with passive FTP on and off in EClass Builder, with =
the same result (or more correctly no result). I am using the same brand =
(Linksys) of router at home as the office. I have no problems connecting =
via FTP (Filezilla and Dreamweaver), however if I try to connect using =

This was the first quiz created in that eclass and the first page (not =
including the inital course page, which was an eclass page). I am having =
a real hard time replicating this problem.

Does this error message occur before or when the first file is 
uploaded? That would suggest an error opening the data connection...

Sorry to ask this again, but could you upload the errlog.txt after you 
got this message? There should be an error message this time.

No, you don't, currently. Since if you edit the files outside of 
EClass, you won't want to re-upload them using EClass anyways. But 
later on I will add a warning, when EClass has FTP synchronization or 
multi-user editing capabilities.

Hi Kevino,

I think I have tried every possible combination (incl passive ftp) to get
files uploaded using the EClass Builder, so far without any luck

If I try to upload to a specific folder,

 I get the following error message.
http://payson.tulane.edu/staff/bjcameron/error12.jpg.
Still no files on the server.

Question--Do you get a warning message if you are writing over files?

This error/problem seems to happen the first time you use EClass after a

http://payson.tulane.edu/staff/bjcameron/eclass_test successfully. (I=20
used your account to ensure there weren't permissions issues.) Have you=20=

server, so you should specify the folder name you want inside the=20

On my home machine, this problem is not occurring. I will check it on =
the office computer when I go in next Wednesday.

One is when you try to upload to /staff/bjcameron it is for some reason=20=

not allowing the folders to be created. Do you mind if I try to upload=20=

to this directory myself?

The other is an issue where no directory is entered into the Directory=20=

textbox. Where were you uploading to when you wanted to upload to the=20
root directory?

OK, I'll test quizzes some more to see if I can track this down too.

I am working on a different XP Machine today and some of the problems =
