EM requires GEdit, Abiword and other gnome apps. Can I change defaults to Kate, Libreoffice/Kingsoft office, Okular, etc.?

My files that are named in Russian are displayed as sets of "Unknown Character" boxes.

Any ideas?

It would be VERY PITY not to be able to use this GORGEOUS file Manager on my Kubuntu machine... I used it for 5 minutes, and i LOVED it!!!
