Hi everyone, I'm wondering if you think it would be a good idea to add an alias agrument to the addChild() method? exmaple: instead of doing this: layer1.canvas = layer1.addChild(new DynLayer()); layer1.canvas.cover = layer1.canvas.addChild(new DynLayer()); we could do this: layer1.addChild(new DynLayer(),"canvas"); layer1.canvas.addChild(new DynLayer,"cover"); It's much simpler to use and adds a better structure to the code. To simply access the cover layer we could do this: layer1.canvas.cover.setBgColor('#ffcc00'); More complex widget structures could work as follows: mywidget.addChild(new Button(),"btnUp"); mywidget.addChild(new Button(),"btnDown"); mywidget.addChild(new Button(),"btnClose"); mywidget.addChild(new ScrollBar(),"hscBar"); mywidget.addChild(new ScrollBar(),"vscBar"); mywidget.btnUp.setCaption("up"); What do you think? -- Raymond Irving __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Hi, i just wanted some info on how i can make a link so it does two "get URL", i'm using iframes for changing content and a top banner image, so each time a link is clicked there is 2 iframes that change...=20 I already tested that with flash (Actionscript, easy as iframes can be referred as targets names) but i have no idea on how to do that for standard text links, i suppose using javascript, or maybe someone has a better idea? Hi all, I have just joined the list, so firstly, Hello. I have a quick question which I hope someone could help me with. I am using the DynAPI to manage layers and I was starting on a fun little project that -could- easily involve tens of layers. Now, my question is this, is it less memory intensive to create and delete new layers rather than using one single layer and constantly wiping the html and rewriting it to that layer? Yes, I've found out that it a security feature :( I've been playing with SODA-RPC and was trying some cross-domain script to try and load dynapi soda-rpc web services from a different domain. But as it turned out this can't be done in asynchronous mode, but got it to work in synchronous mode! :) This means that a user can have an alarm clock web service at www.somewhere.com and you can sync your web page time from www.anywhere.com with the alarm clock servcice. Thanks alot for you feedback. -- Raymond Irving --- Robin Becker <ro...@re...> wrote: > In article > <200...@we...>, > Raymond > Irving <xw...@ya...> writes > >Hello, > > > >I'm getting an Permission or Acess Denied error in > IE > >whenever I try to acess the document object of an > >IFRAME who's location was set to load a page from a > >different domain. > > > .....isn't this intended as part of a fix for > cross-scripting > vulnerabilities? > -- > Robin Becker > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This sf.net email is sponsored by: > With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibility > Learn to use your power at OSDN's High Performance > Computing Channel > http://hpc.devchannel.org/ > _______________________________________________ > Dynapi-Help mailing list > Dyn...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/dynapi-help __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Actually, the last product I worked on had fraems all over the place. To make things jive, we simply added document.domain = "www.netpcs.com" at the top of each frame. This will fool most versions of IE into thinking that both documents are indeed from the same domain. I do not know of that still will work for the newest browsers. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Raymond Irving" <xw...@ya...> To: <dyn...@li...>; <dyn...@li...> Sent: Sunday, December 15, 2002 9:54 AM Subject: [Dynapi-Dev] IFRAME cross-domain security permissions > Hello, > > I'm getting an Permission or Acess Denied error in IE > whenever I try to acess the document object of an > IFRAME who's location was set to load a page from a > different domain. > > Is there a solution to this problem? > > Here's a sample page that generates the error in IE: > > <html> > <head> > <title>IFRAME cross-domain test</title> > <script language="Javascript"> > function init(){ > var fr=window.frames["ifrm"]; > > fr.location.href="http://some-other-domain/index.html"; > window.setTimeout("testDoc()",2000); > } > > function testDoc(){ > var fr=window.frames["ifrm"]; > // If I try to access the document object or the > location object > // I get a Permission or Access denied error > var doc=fr.document; > alert(doc); > } > </script> > </head> > <body onload="init()"> > <iframe name="ifrm" src=""></iframe> > </body> > </html> > > > -- > Raymond Irving > > __________________________________________________ > Do you Yahoo!? > Yahoo! I think you'd have to find a very old browser version to make this script work ;-) You're right, this is as permission problem - and I don't think there is a solution to it. If there was you'd be able to a sneaky "sniffer"-script which could report sensitive informatioin back to whoever wrote the script... But if someone does know how to solve the cross-frames problems, I'd also like to hear it! Hello, I'm getting an Permission or Acess Denied error in IE whenever I try to acess the document object of an IFRAME who's location was set to load a page from a different domain. Is there a solution to this problem? Here's a sample page that generates the error in IE: <html> <head> <title>IFRAME cross-domain test</title> <script language="Javascript"> function init(){ var fr=window.frames["ifrm"]; fr.location.href="http://some-other-domain/index.html"; window.setTimeout("testDoc()",2000); } function testDoc(){ var fr=window.frames["ifrm"]; // If I try to access the document object or the location object // I get a Permission or Access denied error var doc=fr.document; alert(doc); } </script> </head> <body onload="init()"> <iframe name="ifrm" src=""></iframe> </body> </html> -- Raymond Irving __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The js here is 4.5k and we can sneak it past the web controllers without too much arguing. A whole directory tree of (alpha?) OSS will cause some resistance. This is short enough so I can explain it without too much difficulty. After looking at dynapi 2.9, jsrs and various other javascript resources I came up with this example http://www.jessikat.fsnet.co.uk/rgb_rcp/index.html http://www.jessikat.fsnet.co.uk/rgb_rcp/rgb_rcp.js http://www.jessikat.fsnet.co.uk/rgb_rcp/trcp.html of javascript dynamic form loading. This seems to work OK for NS4.x, IE5.0, IE6.X Moz 1.x, but I don't know how to do Opera 5. Also I found that IE5.0x was fairly fragile and hard to get working properly, in particular using innerHTML += '<.....>' instead of insertAdjacentHTML('beforeEnd','<....>') caused IE 5.0 to seg fault. Any comments/test reports are welcome as well as any advice. -- Robin Becker |

The scrollbar problem is something that I will not be able to fix. But I would suggest you try using a combination of the ViewPort and the LoadPanel to get ride of that problem. Tried with your ideas, weird effect, layers appear as they should (without scroll still) but whole page is resized i.e. if it fitted in 1024x768 without vertical scroll, now it needs vertical scroll, as is the unseen content occuped the space, any idea of how to solve that? If yes then set setAutoResizeWidth(false), setAutoResizeHeight(false) and remove getContentWidth() and getContentHeight() > ***Actual script using 2.5.6 (also added the resize > script of netscape 4 > so you know if that interferes or something).*** I think DynAPI 2.5.6 should handle the NS4 resize issue. let me know if the above works. -- Raymond Irving =20 > <script language=3D"Javascript" > src=3D"src/dynapi.js"></script> > <script language=3D"Javascript"> DynAPI.setLibraryPath('src/lib/'); > DynAPI.include('dynapi.api.*'); > DynAPI.include('dynapi.event.*') > DynAPI.include('dynapi.gui.loadpanel.js'); > </script> > <script language=3D"Javascript"> > DynAPI.onLoad=3Dfunction() { > lp =3D new LoadPanel(); > lp.setHTML("nada por aqui..."); > =09 > lp.setSize(480,280); > lp.moveTo(175,260);=09 > lp.setZIndex(4); > lp.setClip(10,10,10,10); > lp.setAutoResizeWidth(true); > lp.setAutoResizeHeight(true); > lp.getContentWidth(); > lp.getContentHeight(); > =09 > counter =3D 0; > var el =3D new EventListener(); > el.onload =3D function(e) { > status =3D 'got load event '+ counter++; > } > =09 > lp.addEventListener(el); > =09 > DynAPI.document.addChild(lp); > } > //--> > </script> >=20 > <script language=3D"JavaScript" > type=3D"text/JavaScript"> > <!-- > function MM_reloadPage(init) { //reloads the window > if Nav4 resized > if (init=3D=3Dtrue) with (navigator) {if > ((appName=3D=3D"Netscape")&&(parseInt(appVersion)=3D=3D4)) { > document.MM_pgW=3DinnerWidth; > document.MM_pgH=3DinnerHeight; > onresize=3DMM_reloadPage; }} > else if (innerWidth!=3Ddocument.MM_pgW || > innerHeight!=3Ddocument.MM_pgH) > location.reload(); > } > MM_reloadPage(true); > //--> > </script> >=20 > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > ------- > Juan Carlos Celaya, Webmaster de Factoria Digital. > E-mail: web...@fa... > www.FactoriaDigital.com / > Hosting.Factoriadigital.com > Tfnos. : (+34) 977 24 88 89 / 667 821 551 > Fax: (+34) 977 22 98 27 > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > ------- >=20 >=20 > -----Mensaje original----- > De: dyn...@li... > [mailto:dyn...@li...] En > nombre de Raymond > Irving > Enviado el: lunes, 09 de diciembre de 2002 14:51 > Para: dyn...@li... > CC: dyn...@li... > Asunto: RE: [Dynapi-Help] New to DynAPI... should i > start wih 2.5.6 or > 2.9?
