Here is my problem. I need to locate the mouse events (move, down, up) in a layer that is in a relative position. To do that I have a <div> layer in my document. I create a DynLayer equal to the first one with getInline(). Then I get the mouse events to return the mouse coordinates values relatively to the layer. My problem is that I don't get the same results on different browser. In Netscape 7.1, Mozilla 1.5, Mozilla 1.00 it seems to works perfectly. But in IE 6.0, Netscape 4.77, the results seem to take reference to the top left of the whole document. Have a quick look at : http://pierre.giraud3.free.fr/divers/mapsurfer/javascript/dynapi3x/essais/dynapi.api.dynlayer-mouseevents.html Does someone have reasons for that ? Thanks Here is my code : ******************************* moveevents.onmousemove = function(e) { document.myform.movex.value = e.x document.myform.movey.value = e.y return false } var upevents = {}; upevents.onmouseup = function(e) { document.myform.upx.value = e.x document.myform.upy.value = e.y return false } dynapi.onLoad(init); function init() { // get the div layer in the HTML code (require DynLayerInline library) mylayer = DynLayer.getInline("container"); //mylayer.setPosition('absolute'); mylayer.captureMouseEvents(); mylayer.addEventListener(downevents) mylayer.addEventListener(moveevents) mylayer.addEventListener(upevents) } </script> </head> <body bgcolor="#999999"> un peu de texte<br> <form name="myform"> <table border=0 bgcolor='pink'> <tr> <td></td> <td>Down</td> <td>Move</td> <td>Up</td> </tr> <tr> <td>X</td> <td><input type="text" name="downx" size=3></td> <td><input type="text" name="movex" size=3></td> <td><input type="text" name="upx" size=3></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Y</td> <td><input type="text" name="downy" size=3></td> <td><input type="text" name="movey" size=10></td> <td><input type="text" name="upy" size=3></td> </tr> </table> </form> <table border=1 cellspacing=5 cellpadding=0> <tr> <td>un texte à gauche</td> <td><div id="container" style="position:relative"><img src="../../../tmp/1078753886104361.png"></div></td> </tr> </table> </body> </html> ************************************* _________________________________________________________________ MSN Messenger http://g.msn.fr/FR1001/866 : un logiciel gratuit pour dialoguer avec vos amis ! |

I wonder how to get the location (in the page) of a layer that has a relative position in the document ? As far as I try it, the script returns the position of the layer given at its initialisation (like it was in absolute position). When asking what is the location of the layer, it don't really if it's positionned in a relative or absolute way. Help would be appreciate. ------------------------------------- <html> <head> <title>Relative Layer Location</title> <script language="JavaScript" src="../src/dynapi.js"></script> <script language="Javascript"> dynapi.library.setPath('../src/'); dynapi.library.include('dynapi.api'); </script> <script language="Javascript"> myLayer = dynapi.document.addChild(new DynLayer(null, null, null, 150,150,'red')); dynapi.onLoad(init); function init() { } </script> </head> <body bgcolor="#999999"> un peu de texte<br> <form name="myform"> un jour, de la place<br> ici ou là </form> <table border=1> <tr> <td>un texte à gauche</td> <td> <script> dynapi.document.insertChild(myLayer,'relative'); </script> </td> </tr> </table> <a href="javascript:alert(myLayer.getX());">test</a> </body> </html> _________________________________________________________________ MSN Search, le moteur de recherche qui pense comme vous ! http://search.msn.fr/ |

I think that the IFrame is hung off of the main window and it seems that an event is percolating up the tree somehow. Certainly in my JS book it claims that using location.replace(newurl) should not alter the history and I tried doing the appropriate changes in the 3 beta, but that didn't seem to help. -- Robin Becker |

Heh, I asked the same question on a forum, and found the answer myself when I went to upgrade Mozilla Firebird a few days later. They changed the name again. Mozilla Phoenity / Firebird / Firefox, what will it be next, and how many revisions will they keep it? Wish they'd just pick a single name and icon and use it already instead of changing it every 6 months. By the way, it does leave a history in Mozilla (1.6a, 1.7a / Win32). Not sure why it does this, I'd have to look at the source and see what it's doing. Have you tried that yet? I notice that as soon as I use an IOElement to obtain dynamic data I get an extra level of history in Firefox, but not in IE 6. Is this related to not using location.replace()? As an example open a new tab or browser and go straight to file:///c:/temp/dynapi3x/examples/dynapi.util.datasource.html or wherever you have the examples. In IE my about:blank start page is replaced and there's no back button, but in Firefox I can return to an earlier instance of the page. -- Robin Becker |

label.js used the font size by doing: <font size=xxx>. That's why it ignored the css setting. The worst thing is that if you don't use css, when you increase your browser's font size, the label font size will be increased accordingly. -Aston -----Original Message----- From: Doug Melvin [mailto:do...@cr...] Sent: Friday, February 27, 2004 10:53 AM To: dyn...@li... Hi, Is this DynAPI 2 or 3? If 3, have you tried getting the library from CVS? Some basic instructions are here: http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=5757 . <opinion type="personal">I use TortiseCVS, works a LOT easier than WinCVS, which you should avoid at all costs.</opinion> The DynAPI 3 CVS module name is dynapi3x. Leif, thanx for advices.=20 =09 I will look for that example and I will tell you about the results. But you should have captured it by then, so you can do what you need within the same block. I've never actually experiemented so I'm not 100% sure, it's a good question, and probably should have an example of it's own, but I dunno = if 2.5 is being maintained anymore. myListener =3D new EventListener(); myListener.onrtmousedown=3Dfunction(e) { e.cancelBrowserEvent(); // other stuff like open a custom dynlayer }; myListener.onrtmouseup=3Dfunction(e) { e.cancelBrowserEvent(); // other stuff close the custom dynlayer }; ----- Original Message -----=20 From: "Cristina Gutiu" <Cri...@is...> To: <dyn...@li...> Sent: Tuesday, February 24, 2004 8:08 AM Subject: [Dynapi-Help] Context menu Hi again, friends.
