OK here is the synopsis. Using a default config and only changing center desktop and selecting DirectX 8.

The game runs full screen. The only way I have gotten the game to pop up in a window is by singling out selecting directx 8 in the direct x version. BUT, the game crashes. Selecting auto dx, no dx or any other direct x version it runs and works properly but in full screen as the game anticipates.

Normally using windows Xp you could get more info about the crash but I'm not sure how to do that in win7 if it would be useful. I've tried all the compatibility modes but the same issue.

Any suggestions?

Alright! It's done. It's working. I'll post the config for it. I few notes though:

1 - If you want to set screen mode other than the default included (800x600) you should run the game without the hook, set the preferred screenmode in-game, then change it in DxDwnd before else you'll reset back to the initial mode set.

To get the game working it took some checking/unchecking for a bit. All that's needed is to activated "Fix Parent Window" which this game seems to use the invisible window for it's execution (per DxWnd manual even though experimental... it works) and set the direct x version to 8.

That should do it.

Well done. I'll put your exported file with your comments in the notes in next DxWnd release.
About the "Fix parent window", maybe you could also try the Compatibility / "Suppress IME" flag, since in most cases the IME is the parent window! As soon as I'll retrieve my copy of this game I'll try it.

Nope. Setting Suppress IME crashes the game as it did before. Fix Parent Window seems to be the only one that works. It'll work if selecting both settings but not if just setting S IME.

EDIT
I've updated the config file here which includes the notes providing the notes are also preserved. The notes don't wrap to the notes window but that may be normal.
