Hi,
I'm trying to play a myst-like ("China The Forbidden City") in 4:3 ratio but it is stretched into the 16:9 format of my hd monitor. The "keep aspect ratio" function was not effective.
(By the way, is there a way to slow down the cursor pace even more ? The "slow down mouse polling" is good but it's still a bit too fast in corners as the gameplay is similar to Myst 3 Exile.)

Please, send me your DxWnd configuration (on the game icon right-click -> eXport... to a file and post it here)
Slowing down the mouse is usually a pain because technically mouse handling can be made in too many different ways. I'll try to set the game and have a look.

The problem with configuration is that you didn't pick window mode: keep aspect ratio doesn't work in fullscreen mode. You should check "Run in window" and then pick a fake fullscreen mode like "Desktop work area".
I could't test it (I'm a little bit in a hurry now ...) but something like this one could work better (if working...)
It works, many thanks! Now the only issue is that the cursor is locked at the center of the screen. So I checked "Keep cursor fixed" to release it. Resulting problem is that I cannot click anything on the main menu as I'm stuck there. Any final tip in mind please?
Edit:
Looks like enabling and editing "DirectInput Hooking" is the solution. I'm trying to figure out the right values.
With (0,2160)-(2160,0) I manage to move the ingame cursor along the X axis right, but the ingame cursor is stucked on the same Y axis (sliding only horizontally but not vertically), the Y axis in the middle of my screen (1080y)
With (2160, 0)-(0, 2160), its the exact opposite: I can slide vertically but not horizontally.
Both at x0-y0 for initial coord.
Edit:
I also noticed that checking "Lock win coordinates" in Video tab released the ingame cursor (on both axis) but the cursor moves exponentially fast.

It must be another game where the cursor is actually kept fixed, invisible and at the center of the screen, and the game tests the small movements around that point. What you did (hooking DirectInput) is usually the key to fix the problem, though details may change.
I see that there's a "China the forbidden city.dxw" file in the export folder, but curiously in that saved export I didn't set that flag. I'll have to try the game again.
Have you tried to uncheck the "Mouse / correct mouse position" flag? In some cases is better not to fix the mouse coordinates!

I tried but it made the ingame cursor stuck in the extreme right, in the middle line.
Ho, I completely missed there was a premade profile in Export folder! I used an older build so I couldn't find it.
I tried both profiles (the default and your updated one) and while the cursor moves a bit too fast in the menu, it seems to work well inside the very game.
New issue is that the game is now lagging including the cursor in the menu. The game pace is good, characters are talking normally but moving the cursor in 360 degrees feels not right.

So I unchecked "correct mouse position" and made sure that "Set DPI awareness" is checked in the Video tab. The game is still not completely smooth (vsync issue? i'm not sure as it's not regular) but feels widely playable now. So I would say the case is closed, thanks.

My setup:
Windows 10 64b
Nvidia GTX

I play the game in full screen since the windowed mode is bugged (game displaying in its original resolution at the left top corner)
