I'm having problems getting Ikusa Megami to work. Probably the biggest issue is that there isn't any music, but I also can't get the game to run without the CD inserted. This archive contains the game files, a config file, and a log file. Any help is appreciated.
Edit: It seems like I was able to get the game working without needing the CD to be mounted just by simply enabling "Play from CD" in the CDAudio tab. I still can't get any sound, however.

Let's give it a try ....
P.s. to avoid breaking SourceForge policies, I preferred to delete the game link. If anyone needs it, he may ask @sugunii again (through PM) or search the Internet Archive.

If you can't get CD audio, probably is because your CD emulator doesn't support it. You could use the DxWnd CDA emulation: in the CDAudio configuration tab select "Use audio files" and unpack the attached archive in the game folder, creating a "Music" folder with all CD tracks inside.
edit: things are not so simple, the game is running through different executable files, I'll have to make some more tests.
The music plays, but now I'm having a problem where the game will play a new song after the previous one finishes. Checking "Force track repeat" doesn't seem to do anything. Also for some reason, the opening starts with the final part of the opening BGM and then the town theme plays during the rest of it. This is what the opening is supposed to sound like.

Can you share your DxWnd game profile? (right-click on the game entry and select "eXport ...", then save a .dxw file and post it here) That would help me replicating your situation.

I think I figured out what the problem was. It wasn't a fault with the configuration, but rather the audio files themselves. I was able to replace them and now the BGM seems to play just fine.

@sugunii : in the initial release of your post (that I receive as mail notification) you mentioned problems to control the window size and position. I think I'm having the very same sort of problems, so I understand. Also, any attempt to resize the window seems to cause mouse control issues (a wrong position scaling). What is even more annoying is that the game is definitely Japanese (locale = 1041), but if I enable locale support the game crashes.
For me disabling the locale is not a big issue since I can't understand a word of Japanese text, but what I see in the game looks suspicious (see my screenshot), resembling more a Korean text or something like that. Probably you have a genuine Japanese computer, but can you confirm my suspicions?
Technically speaking, the game seems a pure GDI game making no use of Directdraw and meant to run in a window. The graphic is mostly handled by DIBs that are not well supported by DxWnd, so this game could be a good challenge to improve the logic.
Please, support us by answering to our questions and stay tuned to hear the news.
I'm not really familiar with Korean at all, so I can't say for certain, but I believe that's just garbled text. The game was only ever released in Japan, and the developers (to my knowledge) have never released any of their games in Korea, so it wouldn't make sense for them to include Korean language support.

Many thanks. As I suspected, the screen looks quite different from mine, and the reason could be because this game doesn't accept the locale translation implemented in DxWnd. There must be a problem somewhere, I'll try to find it.

Could you please post here a screenshot of the same screen on your computer? It is one of the very first scenes of a new game.

This screenshot shows the very first few lines of text in the game. Sorry for the late reply.
