"buffer underflow" in DVDStyler 2.9
Windows 7 service pack 1, 32 bit os, Intel i5 cpu at 3.2GHz, 4GB ram c:120GB ssd, d:640GB e:640GB
DVDStyler 2.9 has a problem when "just generate" a DVD. It processes the menus then it starts to "Transcode/remultiplex" the MP4 files. While doing so it generates an error code "buffer underflow"
ffmpeg.exe has a problem with .MP4 files, it crashes the computer after about 5 MP4 files are transcoded. My projects have 14 to 32 files to transcode to VOB) so I use Super to recode MP4 files to MPG files and Started DVDStyler 2.9 again. The same error code "buffer underflow" appears. I switch to DVDStyler 29B2 and the transcode from MPG to VOB works without error. The ffmpeg problem of crashing after transcoding MP4 files in a large cache is a problem with ffmpeg as it will crash Super if there are over 5 files in the cache to transcode.
I also tried DVDStyler 2.9 windows portable.
I did "just generate" 5 times.
DVDStyler 5 logs say many many "buffer underflow".
DVDStyler 2.8.1 works fine without "buffer underflow".
log1 movie1(h264, pcm_s16le) -> NTSC, AC3
log2 movie2(h264, aac) -> NTSC, AC3
log3 movie3(h264, ac3) -> NTSC, AC3
log4 movie4(wmv3, wmav2) -> NTSC, AC3
log5 movie5(mpeg2, ac3) -> NTSC, Copy
Did you test win32 (ffmpeg) or win64 (libav) version?
I tried win32 (ffmpeg) version. My os is Windows7 32 bit.
I have downloaded DVDStyler for 64bit Windows 7 and there is no error code "buffer underflow".I do find that transcoding from .MP4 to .VOB will crash my computer. Not your problem.I do find 64bit Windows 7 faster and DVDStyler much more responsive. Thanks.

After a little testing I found that the buffer underflow error was introduced with version 2.9 RC2. RC1 is the last version which works.
It has nothing to do with the ffmpeg version, it is the DVDStyler.exe itself. Replacing the executable from version 2.9 with the one from 2.9 RC1 fixes the problems.

DVDStyler V2.8.1 log says:
-muxrate 10080000
DVDStyler V2.9 log says:
-muxrate 25200
I do not know about muxrate.
I have the same problem on my mac in OSX.
When I reverted back to an older version, it came up with an error saying too much data for the disk, so I deleted two mp4s. Is it possible that the new version doesn't recognize the same condition and gets the underflow when it tries to generate?
fixed in DVDStyler 2.9.1
