I was playing Chopper Commando and dispite the fact
that the homepage says it's supported, XP locks and
display's it's BSOD saying it has stopped windows to
prevent damage to my computer.
The reason so it states is
"DRIVE_IRQL_NOT_EQUAL_LESS_OR_EQUAL". the 5 other
games I've run so far seem to be pretty happy with
DosBox 0.63, but this one dies every 2 minutes or so.
Could be the game's programming for that matter.
If it is the game, please set it as not compatible on the
site so I don't feel bad not being able to play it.
DosBox is a great program. Keep up the sweet work. (and
maybe give support for mounting zip archives as drives ;

Only what that game or with any game ?
the blue screen of windows has probably little to do with
dosbox.
dosbox has no lowlevel support for harddrives and uses
normal functions to read the files.

"the 5 other games I've run so far seem to be pretty happy
with DosBox 0.63" yes, the others run smooth as silk. it's this
game in particular that is screwed up.

Isn't there an 'R' missing from that error message?
Not DRIVE_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
but DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Also do the error message not list a stop code, like "Stop
0x000000D1"
Anyway, this error is most likely due to a bad Windows
driver. Perhaps the game "Chopper Commando" triggers an
internal error in your modem, network or screen driver?
