After some months, I am raising this issue again. rst2latex tries but fails to extend the table across the page width. Since it does not take account of some of the space produced by tables, it fails badly. The tables are much wider than the page width. I believe rst2latex should either fix this or stop trying to impose widths. I am happy with either---indeed, I would prefer the latter---but the current behavior is very bad. At the least, could we have an option to turn off attempts to control the column width? I see two other changes that are desirable. The first is important: the stub option is being ignored. As in the HTML writer, stubs should be recognized (a by default be bold). The second is less pressing but I think desirable. The table stubs and headers should be given a semantic rather than presentational tags. So instead of \textbf{myheader} I'd like to see for example \DUth{myheader}. Cheers, Alan Isaac PS The ability to use booktabs is much appreciated! |
