The "complex table in LaTeX" bug comes up every now and then and bug me a
lot for a long time. However, I did not touch the table writer class
(yet) and would prefer you to fix it as fas as possible¹.

¹Actually, there are (at least) two problems:
 
 a) wrong table cell count with multirow cells. (because of different table
    models in LaTeX and Docutils.
    
 b) mixed multirow/multicollumn cells - AFAIK these are not supported by
    LaTeX so this is a WONTFIX. It might be good to ask at the TeX usenet
    group whether there is a solution, though.
