[Docutils-develop] How to override a commandline option?

It seems to me like the default --use-latex-info option for rst2beamer
should be True (or 1).  What is the correct way to override this when
deriving the BeamerWriter from the Latex2eWriter?

This is all the code for the BeamerWriter:

class BeamerWriter (Latex2eWriter):
        """
        A docutils writer that produces Beamer-flavoured LaTeX.
        """
        settings_spec = BEAMER_SPEC
        settings_defaults = BEAMER_DEFAULTS

        def __init__(self):
            Latex2eWriter.__init__(self)
            self.translator_class = BeamerTranslator

but just trying to add a '--use-latex-docinfo' option to Beamer_SPEC
causes a conflict.
