Please take a look at branches/plugins/docs/howto/extensions.txt.  It's 
a new document that describes how to write plugins.  If you have any

Thanks, that's an interesting problem.  I'll have a look at that and try 
to make sure that this case is handled well from Docutils' side (don't 
know if that's possible, but we'll see).
