Si, I agree about the help implementation. I like the idea of having the information dynamic and the idea of have a simple/easy to maintain web control. I think putting it at the bottom could work but depending on the layout we might find it is easier to read putting it on say the right hand side of the screen. I know we could loose some of the screen real-estate but it might flow better when trying to work out how the help relates to the forum layout etc... As you say, another option would be to generate a second window which could contain the dynamically generated help document? I am not sure if I like this but it is another possibility. It gets tricky for some novice users when popups etc get blocked so no help would appear etc... I like the idea of being able to get a master help from the dnfbb home page but I think this cannot be the only method as some people would want to customize their own help files etc... Maybe you could do something to give them the option of either method. Just a few comments/thoughts for you to bounce back at me... Later, Simon -----Original Message----- From: dnf...@li... Subject: [Dnfbb-developers] Help I have been thinking about the help that will be provided to users, what I was thinking was: Each page would have a link to "Show Help" If selected then a web control, will be shown at the bottom of the page, with page specific help. This would allow us to have dynamically linked help on each page, each help section would be a single web control which should make updating/maintaining very easy. If anyone has any suggestions, comments or recommendations about this method then please shout, if I hear nothing to the contrary I will begin implementing this method. Other alternatives could include a pop up window with page specific help or a link to online help which will be maintained on the dnfbb home page.
