??? DirSync 1.01 http://freshmeat.net/releases/174958/ DirSync is a directory synchronizer. It takes two arguments: the source directory and the destination directory. It recursively makes the two directories identical. It can be used to make an incremental copy of large data. For example, if your file server is in the /data you can make a copy in /backup with the command dirsync /data /backup. The first time, all data will be copied, but when you issue the command again, only the changed files are copied. taken from freshmeat update 07/08/2004 Valerio. |

I propose a fix for this bug: line dirssync.py line 423 was: self.commands[2].append([file,self.jobcard.local.dir,[self.jobcard.remote= .getContent,self.jobcard.remote.getMtime(file)],self.jobcard.local.copyTo= ,self.jobcard.remote.dir,'copy to remote']) has to be: self.commands[2].append([file,self.jobcard.local.dir,[self.jobcard.remote= .getContent,self.jobcard.remote.getMtime(file)],self.jobcard.local.copyTo= ,self.jobcard.remote.dir,'copy to local']) Ok? Ciao. |

dirssync 2.1rc, Python 2.3, wxPython 2.4.2.4, w2k, earth. I open a .sync file and I click on next>>; dirssync analyzes files and then shows the ones which have to be syncroni= zed in the transfer list. ... but in the column "action" it displays always "tranfer to remote" als= o when it should display "transfer to local". Ciao, Valerio. |

I've just released a phpBB forum for DirsSync. Before include it on the DirsSync web page for "the world", I would like to get ideas and comments on which forums you want to have (at least as a starting point). Thanks. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail is new and improved - Check it out! http://promotions.yahoo.com/new_mail |

Several bug fixes has been implemented. No new functionalities. Tests results and feedbacks are welcome. Thanks. PS: Any ideas to fork CVS and keep DirsSync1.3 and DirsSync2 in parallel ? __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? New and Improved Yahoo! Hi, I am interested in using dirsync without a GUI over ssh. I downloaded dirssync-2.0.rc2 and it seems, that you can only run it, if you have wxwindows installed. It would be very good if you can use it on the shell, too. Please CC to me, I am not on the list. Thomas -- Thomas Guettler <gu...@th...> http://www.thomas-guettler.de |

Hello, Have you noticed your computer running slower than ever? The reason for that may have to do with online advertisers adding SpyWare or AdWare to your computer without your knowledge. "Spyware" is a common term for files that are installed on your system without your knowledge that allow companies to monitor your Internet activity. "AdWare" is software that will show you popup ads over and over. What they don't tell you, however, is how these files can be extremely dangerous to your PC and could cause major problems with your PC. We are offering every computer owner, including yourself, the opportunity to scan your computer to see how many "SpyWare" infections your PC has free of charge. To scan your computer for free, click here: http://bluecomcast.com/dbm83/l.php?959&31558004&riceez420/trekblue8 Our goal is to put an end to shady online advertising so that Internet users can enjoy the World Wide Web without having their privacy intruded upon. We urge you to run the free scan! Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

I'm having trouble building the win32 exe with py2exe. If I run 'python generate-exe.py py2exe', I get a dll in the build directory, but I never get an actual exe. |

I propose a full rewrite of DirsSync. You can find it on the web site (not yet on cvs). If some one can guide me to create a 'branch" in cvs ... Comments and feedbacks are welcome. As implemented in rsync, I've added the notion of delta. This allow the users to "stamp" equal 2 files even if the difference between timestamp/size is not null. This will be helpfull for FAT synchronisation. By putting a value of 1 (or 2) they should avoid to synchronize 2 files that have a difference of 1 seconds. Mark, I've made modification on the "API" objects, but unti test is may be no more valid. Translation in French and italian are impacted. This can be adapted (all in once) when we will release a new version of DirsSync. Thanks __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! SiteBuilder - Free web site building tool. I'm thinking to add a xml-rpc functioanlity on Dirssync. This will able 1 dirssync user to share some part of his directories with an other one throught HTTP. Does any one have XML-RPC experiences ? Does this represent lot of work, or is there python example (I've just read xml-rpc) to facilitate the development ? ??? __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
