According to your reply it depends on OS right? but wen i try to fetch devices from Windows Media Encoder it gives me proper list what i want. but in same System wen i try to run DirectShow it gives me other list. M not getting y such thing happen?

I am using DirectShow for fetching my system's audio and video device. but when i connect any cam-coder through fire port to my laptop , m nt able to get name of my cam-coder in audio device list.
In video device list m getting microsoft dv camera and vcr instead of this it should give me name of my cam-coder n no ny device in audio list. can you plz guide me wat to do to over come this issue.

DsDevice queries DirectShow. DirectShow queries the operating system. Presumably the OS gets its info from device drivers.
