Which version do you use: installer or portable?
Which Windows version? Win 10 1809 Pro/Home or something else.
Is any option from experimental tab enabled, especially "show clock in fullscreen mode"?
Can you run debug version to get some info to help me solve this issue?

    Hey Nick,
    It's installer version 64 bit
    Win10 Pro ver. 1809
    built 17763.437

I run it in both experimental on and off
    Effect is the same.
How do I run the debug version?

Thanks for response. But there is no any debug version. I'll build it in few ours and share link with you. Please wait

so, I created debug build. you can download it here.
just install it over version you have, no uninstall required. only exit program before installing.
debug version will create a log file called "digital_clock_4.log" in your home folder (C:\Users\<your user="">). this file grows pretty fast, so run app just for few seconds (15-20 secs is enough).
then just send this file to me.</your>

unfortunatelly, to get 4.7.5 (or any other stable version), you must uninstall this debug version first... this is installer feature.

    Here you go Nick.
I have tried (as you can see in log) to change settings, disable all experimentals, switch on and off
But all this to no effect. While I had settings open - clock showed on the screen.
When I close settings, every time clock disappear

Looking forward to hearing from you

    Nick,

    Guess what?
After I uninstalled debug version and installed new version, problem has gone!!!
Clock appears on the screen all the time

I'll be curious to see what you'll find out in the log, though...

I found what happened in your system... The answer in these lines:

I: :: fullscreen window detected: "WorkerW"
D: --> fullscreen window found, don't stay above fullscreen windows

so... Windows introduced some new invisible fullscreen window... again...
I use Windows very rarely, so don't know about such issues. Thanks for your help.

Regarding to why uninstall/re-install helped, all settings were deleted during uninstall, and clock started with default settings. State of the option "show clock in fullscreen mode" has changed (became "true"), and that was enough... Unchecking this option will brake "stay on top" feature again.

To workaround this issue, just create in Windows registry new multi-string value named fullscreen_ignore_list under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Nick Korotysh\Digital Clock\misc key (create misc key if required) with next values :

      Chrome_WidgetWin_0
      CEF-OSR-WIDGET
      Windows.UI.Core.CoreWindow
      WorkerW

see attached screenshot for details. or just add info from attached .reg file simply double clicking on it. file content looks strange, but it adds only mentioned value to the system registry.

        Hi,

Still having problems with Always on Top in version 4.7.5+

I wanted to disable "show clock in fullscreen mode" because I think it
crashes my PC. When I disable this, Always on Top stops working.

Tried the registry key but still doesnt work.

I want to use "show clock in fullscreen mode" but it seems to crash my PC
when using fullscreen apps/games. Would like to see the clock without
        crashes.

        Please advice.

          Nick Korotysh - 2019-09-11

          Hello,
Thanks for detailed report, but unfortunately that info says almost nothing to me... I'm not so good developer to understand such info (almost all is raw hex values), I know only few developers who can read such things... Even more, I'm not Windows developer, I only can compile apps for Windows. All I can say, that only some crash happens inside Qt library (this very strange), but what cases it - this is a very big question...

What about not working always on top feature, this hints that new invisible fullscreen window appeared in Windows again... So, need to find it, again...

What about crash, some additional info is requed. It is not clear what crashes: clock itself or clock + some (very likely DirectX) app, or even system (i.e. blue screen). Attached info looking as some kind as call stack says that clock is crashed, nothing more.

What do you think if I'll provide (in few days) debug build or some kind of test application to collect more info from your system?
