Hi, Knut... The discussion is very interesting. Besides the cons you mentioned, the discussion is also biased towards hospital IS, which demand a critical amount of security. Anyway, it is wonderful to find out that many out there think of J2EE as a suitable development platform and, best of, I liked this (quote): "Closed source code for medical applications is like selling drinking water in a life boat.
