Hi, Funny, isn't it - I read that article and it's like greek, peppered with acronyms and technologies (AOP, JDO, AJUG, Struts, MVC, JMS, JTA, Resin, etc etc) I don't know anything about. Even the effort at "explaining" Dependency Injection is a joke - it just states that "this is tricky but you might be able to pick it up". And there is nobody else here working with HISP - possibly excluding Greg Rudman at Soft Craft, but his time cost us nearly 4,000 per day now - that have a clue either. Most of us here have a background in more mainstream development environments (read: VB/VBA/ASP/.NET/C# etc). So we need to do something fast to bridge this knowledge gap, otherwise I fear the DHIS 2 will be mainly Oslo-driven (read: highly alienating for the rest of us) with a few satellite developers. Practically all information I've seen about these technologies so far are similarly excluding, filled with jargon and assuming that people already know all the basic technologies already. Therefore: are there anybody in Oslo who understand BOTH mainstream (MS) development environments AND these Java Technologies, and thus could collate a collection of "DHIS 2 for dummies" articles with some commentary that could start to bridge this gap? Please remember that it must be an easy read but also not too voluminous - most of us have full-time jobs or more and cannot spend weeks reading thousands of pages.
