The "Abandoned Project Takeover" has status "APT Approved by SF.net", but no changes have been made to project admin or developers. So, it is progressing, hopefully it won't take much longer. Folks, (months later), I think I may have spotted what the issue is, but I have no idea about how to fix it. I.e. although the specs file for the NetApp filer says "use snmp v1", devmon sticks to snmp v2. Any suggestions? I am actually waiting on Buchan Milne to take over the devmon project so = i could publish it on the svn. In fact i have no news for him. Hello List, We've just installed two new switches, Cisco Catalyst 6513g. I can snmpwalk the switches OK and so apparently does devmon, all the tests are green but empty. 1. Devmon is working fine for a few routers on the same site. 2. timing an snmpwalk against the 6513g takes a veeeeeeeeeery long time real 9m12.805s user 0m2.220s sys 0m1.080s 3. Forcing the Cisco 6509 template didn't help Could anyone see where the issue is or what I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance Loris |

I think that would be better. I've just completed templates for Dell PowerEdge (using OMSA), I have works-in-progress for Cisco CSM and FWSM, and sending patches around doesn't scale. Maybe we should request sourceforge to add us as admins to the project (my sourceforge username is buchanmilne). Regards, Buchan |

Ah, I see what you did, you're just forcing the normal Hobbit &red/&yellow/&green text into the page. You should rather put thresholds on your SColour1 variable, and then SColour1.color should work. Let me try this myself ... Yes, this seems to work. On the updated compaq-server template I posted last week, I added: cpqHeTemperatureCelsiusFake: SWITCH : {cpqHeTemperatureCelsius} < 28 = OK, 28 - 30 = WARN, > 30 = CRIT to transforms, cpqHeTemperatureCelsiusFake : green : OK : Normal cpqHeTemperatureCelsiusFake : yellow : WARN : Warning cpqHeTemperatureCelsiusFake : red : CRIT : Critical to thresholds, and then using cpqHeTemperatureCelsiusFake.color in the message file results in the correct icon, and changes the page colour appropriately. But, fixing the numeric thresholds need to be done. Regards, Buchan |

=20 Does anyone have a template made for the Cisco 7140? It looks like the Cisco 3845 is the same as a 7206, but the CPU load doesn't look right. Does anyone know if the OID is different on the 3845? I'm hoping that I don't have to dig through a SNMP walk. Thank you, Tom |

I made the change (I also collapsed the if_load to ifload) before I saw your answer. It seems Hobbit trends does not like file names such as ifloadGi00.rrd. Once I added the "." and changed the hobbitgraph.cfg to be the same, the graphs are now showing up in trends. Now the rrd file shows ifload.Gi00.rrd Many thank you's for the answer! Also in case anyone is interested, I do two different graphs in trends. Note the original if_load is actually my ifloaddet. The network team wanted to see the in and out combined in the column, but get the individual detail in trends. I have attached my version of the script. Note that by default, using it will *break* if_load graphs for users using the previous script, since the previous script hardcoded the ds names to in and out, though the ds names in most if_load message files are actually ds0 and ds1. The easy fix is to change them to in and out in the template, the proper way may be to export/import existing rrd files. Now, adding something like this to the hobbit graph definitions allows graphing of the 5 temperatures I can get out of my ProLiants: [temp] FNPATTERN temp.(.*).rrd TITLE Temperature YAXIS Degrees Celsius DEF:in@RRDIDX@=@RRDFN@:ds0:AVERAGE DEF:out@RRDIDX@=@RRDFN@:ds1:AVERAGE LINE1:in@RRDIDX@#@COLOR@:@RRDPARAM@ Temperature GPRINT:in@RRDIDX@:LAST: %8.2lf %s (cur) GPRINT:in@RRDIDX@:MAX: %8.2lf %s (max) GPRINT:in@RRDIDX@:MIN: %8.2lf %s (min) GPRINT:in@RRDIDX@:AVERAGE: %8.2lf %s (avg)\n LINE1:out@RRDIDX@#@COLOR@:@RRDPARAM@ Threshold GPRINT:out@RRDIDX@:LAST: %8.2lf %s (cur) GPRINT:out@RRDIDX@:MAX: %8.2lf %s (max) GPRINT:out@RRDIDX@:MIN: %8.2lf %s (avg) GPRINT:out@RRDIDX@:AVERAGE: %8.2lf %s (avg)\n -l 0 (or with the lines from the 2nd LINE to the last GPRINT commented, if you don't want to graph the thresholds). Hi Pall, Thank you for your reply. I had tried the thresholds file at first and only got green colors even though the temperature had exceeded the yellow and red values. Hi Teresa, By design, what you are doing will not change the test color from green. You might have better luck using the threshold file. Maybe something like this: SensTemp1 : yellow : >24 : Sensor1 is above 24 SensTemp1 : red : >28 : Sensor1 is above 28 This way, using {SensTemp1.color} in message file will change the test color. Hope this helps. Well you aren't alone in this problem as I have it too, using the guide made available earlier on the list. Doesn't really make much sense either as Hobbit should just scan the rrd directory and add any graphs found to the trends page. I've added if_load to the correct two lines in hobbitserver. Subject: [Devmon] Help needed I have devmon sending rrd data to Hobbit and I am getting the rrd graph within the if_load column, but it is not showing up in trends. =20 =20 So I know the graph config is good, if_load is in TEST2RRD and GRAPHS. The perl script extra-rrd.p is working great and properly creating the rrd files. =20 I have also tried adding "TRENDS:*,if_load" to the bb-hosts. =20 Has anyone else run into this. My searches only show issues with the [if_load] problems within hobbitgraph.cfg =20 Here is my setting =20 [if_load] FNPATTERN if_load(.*).rrd TITLE Network Traffic YAXIS Bits/second DEF:in@RRDIDX@=3D@RRDFN@:in:AVERAGE CDEF:inbytes@RRDIDX@=3Din@RRDIDX@,8,* DEF:out@RRDIDX@=3D@RRDFN@:out:AVERAGE CDEF:outbytes@RRDIDX@=3Dout@RRDIDX@,8,* CDEF:tot@RRDIDX@=3Doutbytes@RRDIDX@,inbytes@RRDIDX@,+ LINE2:tot@RRDIDX@#@COLOR@:@RRDPARAM@ Total In+Out GPRINT:tot@RRDIDX@:LAST:%8.2lf %s (cur) GPRINT:tot@RRDIDX@:MAX:%8.2lf %s (max) GPRINT:tot@RRDIDX@:MIN:%8.2lf %s (min) GPRINT:tot@RRDIDX@:AVERAGE:%8.2lf %s (avg)\n =20 It is a bit different as we wanted to combine the in and out on the graph. I also used the original, but that didn't work either. =20 Again the graph shows perfectly within the if_load column, but not in trends. =20 Any light on the subject would be great. =20 Thank you, Tom ------------------------------------------------------------------------ - This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. I had a similar question and I have never had a response to anything else I have asked on this list since joining earlier this month. I am beginning to think that this is a dead list.
