Hello, I have commit a new template call f5-bigip-lite and fix f5-bigip it is usefull with a hobbit client rpm i made for F5. If people are interest i could publish it. Why a lite version. When you use the bigip template an a equipement which have a lot of pool and vip, you will get error. So the was to made a light snmp test and add all standard stuff with hobbit client since F5 bigip is a linux Redhat3 All of the change have been commit on the svn avalaible at: http://devmon.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/devmon/trunk/templates/ Regards, Francois Buchan Milne a écrit : > On Wednesday 12 December 2007 13:38:50 Dawid Mentel wrote: > >> Hi All, >> >> Regarding that thread >> >> http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_name=470FBEAF.20906%40cs >> .toronto.edu >> >> We think that solution may be achieved by only moving one line of code >> just few steps up: >> >> In the file : dm_tests.pm >> in function apply_thresh_rep >> line number: 2312 - my ($op, $limit) = ($1, $2); should be moved to line >> number 2308. >> > > xbgmsharp made this change in svn about 2 hours before you sent your mail: > > http://devmon.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/devmon/trunk/modules/dm_tests.pm?r1=3&r2=10 > > It looks equivalent. > > Regards, > Buchan > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > SF.Net email is sponsored by: > Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace. > It's the best place to buy or sell services > for just about anything Open Source. > http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;164216239;13503038;w?http://sf.net/marketplace > _______________________________________________ > Devmon-support mailing list > Dev...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/devmon-support > > |

I would like to aim for having graphs working out-the-box for everything that can be graphed by hobbit. For those that can't, we should either ship an extension for devmon, or a patch to add support for the devmon rrd format in hobbit. However, some of this work may be wasted, as Hobbit 4.3 would allow us to do the same thing via a trends message (without having to patch Hobbit). > I am curently working on this at work. Great, keep us in the loop on what changes are required so we can be sure all templates are updated. Regards, Buchan |

Hello, Nice work. I have commit on monday my change on different perl modules. I will add my change for the F5-bigip template and cisco pix version i have. When do you think we should release a new version. I think we should communicated on the hobbit mailling list, for other people to know than the project is back again. I think we should also adapt the output to automaticly graph. It is the case with cpu and memory if you repect a standard output. I am curently working on this at work. -- Thanks for using xbgm# / Devmon. http://xbgm.sourceforge.net/ http://devmon.sourceforge.net/ Please feedback. |

However, if you use one of the 'builtin' names like 'memory' -and- the message that you send to the status channel is in the same format as what the builtin would send, hobbit will create the expected rrd's and use the same graph definitions. I've only done this when the builtin column wasn't enabled at the same time (not sure what would happen in that case). This also works if there's an existing NCV-style data definition in hobbit{graph,server}.cfg. > > We are graphing connections on our conns test (using my version of the > extra-rrd.pl). We've recently got snmp access to our SAN switches, so I will look at creat= ing=20 a template for them, and maybe compare to keep consistency? Regards, Buchan |

I've just added the Dell PowerEdge templates I've been testing for a while. We created a template a while back for a Cisco FWSM ... so far it looks to use the same OIDs as yours for the PIX. We didn't have a test for failover status, but we have an if_stat (mainly informational, so we know the interface names the firewall team uses). The test names we have are conns, cpu, freemem (not sure why I didn't make it just 'mem',if_stat. Is there a reason to use different names than the standard Hobbit names? We are graphing connections on our conns test (using my version of the extra-rrd.pl). I would really like to have CPU utilisation and memory graphs as well. sysdescr for the FWSM is: SNMPv2-MIB::sysDescr.0 = STRING: Cisco Firewall Services Module Version 3.1(4) I have attached the templates I created for our FWSM, let's discuss the differences, and agree if we should use one template for both pix and FWSM. I've added the APC and IBM RSA2 templates. Thanks. Regards, Buchan |

Hi All, Regarding that thread http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_name=470FBEAF.20906%40cs.toronto.edu We think that solution may be achieved by only moving one line of code just few steps up: In the file : dm_tests.pm in function apply_thresh_rep line number: 2312 - my ($op, $limit) = ($1, $2); should be moved to line number 2308. It resolved problem for us :) Thanks, Warm regards, Kasia Michalik Dawid Mentel |

I submitted templates for cisco pix 6.3, ibm rsa II management adapter, and the apc 9617 UPS (basically a modified version of one of the existing APC templates) to devmon-support in October. I've only got a v6.3 pix to work with, so I'm not familiar with the 7.0 if there's a difference. I can't find a reference to your pix templates on the list, were they submitted to devmon-support? -- S i m e o n B e r k l e y Systems Engineer Mcclatchy Interactive |

Where did you submit your template? I publish 2 weeks ago a template for cisco pix 6.2 to 7.0. Not on SVN yet but on Devmon 0.3.0-beta3 release with it. The 0.3.0-beta3 will be on the svn by the end of this weeek. I would like to compare them specially for memory which is painfull on cisco and also because i have trouble graphing it in hobbit. Regards, -- Thanks for using xbgm# / Devmon. http://xbgm.sourceforge.net/ http://devmon.sourceforge.net/ Please feedback. |

Oops! After comparing the new svn repo with my templates, I just realized that the 3550 template that I included as mine was actually one that Schwimmer had written. My apologies for any confusion (though I haven't seen any feedback about the other ones yet). simeon berkley wrote: > I've tried to post these to the list using my original list subscription email without success, so I've resorted to using another subscription. I suspect that since we've heard nothing from Mr. Schwimmer since June(?) that he's no longer maintaining devmon. I've heard nothing back from an email to the list administrator's address. Anyway, attached are templates for: > > Cisco Catalyst 3550 > APC 9617 UPS > IBM RSA-II adaptor > Cisco Pix 6.3 > > The APC is adapted from another of the APC UPS templates. The 3550 is an adaptation of existing switch templates.
