I know nothing about Linux heartbeat, so apologies if I'm way off beam, but couldn't you create a startup script running before heartbeat start-up which symlinks /var/lib/whatever to /etc/whatever, or just amend the heartbeat start-up script to do that? Or you could amend the save-config script to include your directory, but I wd prefer the former solution. Hi everyone! I would be grateful if one of the kindly maintainers could update Samba in Devil-Linux 1.3 (i686-SMP-server) to the current stable release 3.3.0. I am presently using 1.3.6-2008-10-28-i686 and this has Samba 3.0.32. There have been a swathe of subsequent package updates (I see from the 1.3.7 changes file) but samba has only been taken up to 3.2.7, and DL 1.3.7 has only been compiled for i586, not i686-SMP-server. The reason for the request is that we are having some problems with file locks under samba, and it is possible that these will be fixed in 3.3.0, the release notes for which list some oplocks bugfixes. Thanks! Dominic, http://www.edendevelopments.co.uk/dlsetup.php |

Got that. Here's the instructions: 1. Get binaries of: at, atd (and if you'd like, atq, batch, atrm). 2. Get /etc/init.d/atd, and modify the path and functions to match those in devil linux. 3. Add the daemon user to the system. (Redhat version needs it at least). *(That's what was getting me). 4. Add directories /var/spool/at, and /var/spool/at/spool, both with 700 permissions, and owned by daemon. 5. Add empty .SEQ file to /var/spool/at , and `chown daemon` on file.. 6. Create empty file at /etc/at.deny . You'll have to create /var files at boot since it is erased on shutdown. That's what I did to get it working anyways. I'll try that. I took the binary from the RHEL, and modified the init.d script to work correctly, but it seems atd does not want to start. I'll see what I can figure out. You should be able to put a copy of the 'at' binary in /root, (and add /root to your $PATH if you want). /root is saved to the config media. Cron is a lot harder to work with for simply saying, "run command in 5 minutes". It's really useful over SSH. For example, if I was messing with iptables and blocked myself out, I could have said, in 10 minutes, reset iptables. I suppose I could put a rule in cron to reset every 10 minutes, but it has the possibility to mess up my progress. It doesn't seem like it would take too much space to add it as a feature, but there may be some security issues involved. -Brad On Fri, Feb 20, 2009 at 9:38 AM, Heiko Zuerker <he...@zu...> wrote: > Can't you just use cron? > > Heiko > > -----Original Message----- > From: Bradlee Landis [mailto:bra...@gm...] > Sent: Thursday, February 19, 2009 1:42 PM > To: dev...@li... > Subject: [Devil-Linux-discuss] At Command > > Is there a package that could be added on to include the "at" command? > If not, what's the easiest way to add it? > > -Brad > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- > -- > Open Source Business Conference (OSBC), March 24-25, 2009, San Francisco, CA > -OSBC tackles the biggest issue in open source: Open Sourcing the Enterprise > -Strategies to boost innovation and cut costs with open source participation > -Receive a $600 discount off the registration fee with the source code: SFAD > http://p.sf.net/sfu/XcvMzF8H > _______________________________________________ > Devil-linux-discuss mailing list > Dev...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/devil-linux-discuss > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Open Source Business Conference (OSBC), March 24-25, 2009, San Francisco, CA > -OSBC tackles the biggest issue in open source: Open Sourcing the Enterprise > -Strategies to boost innovation and cut costs with open source participation > -Receive a $600 discount off the registration fee with the source code: SFAD > http://p.sf.net/sfu/XcvMzF8H > _______________________________________________ > Devil-linux-discuss mailing list > Dev...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/devil-linux-discuss > |
