I suppose I should have posed this as a question :) Are people aware of this problem? Anyway around it without doing my own builds? Christopher C. Well just in case somebody bumps into this problem again it looks like it's solved in release 1.3.6 (or should I say release 1.3).
Btw this release is kind of hard to find since it's not on sourceforge yet ...
Best regards

I get the message "add bridge failed: invalid argument" from the command "brctl addbr br0". I came across this on an upgrade from 1.2.6 to 1.2.15. This will mess up my entire router config if I can't get it to work. |

I am not sure specifically what caused it (perhaps Samba bug 6186, fixed in Samba 3.3.3), but returning to the previous version of DL (with Samba 3.0.32) gets it working again okay. BTW I love how easy it is to regress with DL: poweroff, pull out current USB drive, put in previous USB drive, restart. Dominic |

Well I changed gzip to bzip2, and it didn't seem to make a difference. The programs that changed are actually located in /bin instead of in /usr/bin. Are you using version 1.2 or 1.3 of Devil Linux? I may need to see if 1.3 works better. root@firewall:~ # echo "$TERM" xterm-new Right now I'm using SSH, but even if I'm physically on the device, in which term is "linux" I believe, it still does not work. I can give you my man.conf if you need it, but I've messed with it and it hasn't changed the problem. I'm using Devil off of a compact flash, and the partition holding the iso is in FAT16 (I think, it's one of the FAT's at least). I've ungzipped one of the files, and it looked normal to me though. -Brad On Fri, Apr 3, 2009 at 4:40 PM, Serge Leschinsky <fi...@in...> wrote: > > Hi, > > could you please show "echo $TERM" ? > > -- > Serge > > Bradlee Landis wrote: >> Why are man pages always messed up in devil linux? Why are man pages always messed up in devil linux? I get a whole lot of junk like "^H^H<FA><CE>iptables...", like it's not decoding properly. Hi all,
I'm trying to run devil-linux on a laptop.
The first network card is integrated and it's a Realtek RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+ according to lspci. It seems that the 8139cp module works fine with it.
The second network card is PCMCIA Trendnet TE100-PCBUSR. When I insert it cardctl ident reports:
Socket 0:
product info: "Realtek", "Rtl8139"
manfid: 0x0000, 0x24c
function: 6 (network)
PCI id: 0x10ec, 0x8139 (the same as the integrated one)
I tried to modify /etc/pcmcia/config to include the information above and to make it load the kernel module but I cannot get an eth1 to show up ...
Also it seems that the PCMCIA card appears as a PCI device since after I have it inserted lspci gives me the following two additional lines:
pcilib: Cannot open /proc/bus/pci/03/00.0
lspci: Unable to read the standard configuration space header of device 0000:03:00.0
Any ideas will be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Boki, xy zy wrote: ... >>Check /etc/conntrackd/doc/ - the examples of config file should be there > > I can't find /etc/conntrackd directory in 1.3.7! Hm.... I'll doublecheck if the script copies all necessary files.... Hopefully /etc is rewritable zone and you can easily create /etc/conntrackd/ folder and put an example file from conntract-tools package. Sorry for inconvenience, I'll try to fix it by the next release. -- Serge |

I think we're using something like that in the mysql init script, which creates the main database on the first start. Do you have local storage available on that box? If yes, take a look at the file /etc/sysconfig/lvmtab If not, maybe you can work with symlinks which point back to /etc/heartbeat/somefolder. Of course this would only be saved on save-config. > > Other info about CRM (maybe it is usefull for next devil version): > > CRM wants to use directories after start, but in version 1.3.7 > default configuration, the permissions of this directories aren't > good (I can use /etc/sysconfig/permissions.base to resolve this > problem). installation successfully, becouse it adds some db....
What is the better way to do this?

Maybe something happened wiht my mails on friday, so i repeat it: > I think you need to be a little bit more descriptive what the problem > is, most people here not Linux-HA experts. Ok. My devil version is: 1.3.7 (yes the latest the best:)) So I'd like to use heartbeat with CRM (Cluster Resource Manager), what depends on an XML config file (cib.xml). After a succesfull start of heartbeat, CRM wants to read and process mentioned XML from /var/lib/heartbeat/crm/ and store file backups there. My main problem is the path (directory)! I can't save XML, because there is no real storage behind (after reboot the file disappear). My question is: Is there a solution to save cib.xml on mentioned directory permanently? Other info about CRM (maybe it is usefull for next devil version): CRM wants to use directories after start, but in version 1.3.7 default configuration, the permissions of this directories aren't good (I can use /etc/sysconfig/permissions.base to resolve this problem). So the right permissions: /var/lib/heartbeat/crm hacluster:haclient 700 /var/lib/heartbeat/pengine hacluster:haclient 770 /var/lib/heartbeat/cores/hacluster hacluster:haclient 700 /var/run/heartbeat/crm hacluster:haclient 700 /var/run/heartbeat/ccm hacluster:haclient 700 For Björn: >If you are a bit more descriptive on what you would like to do, I might help you. I'd like to setup a Firewall/router config in HA.
