I shouldn't have to run ntpdate manually every evening if I am already running the xntp daemon, although it may come down to this. The ntp ports are not blocked and ntpq tells me that I am in sync. ntpdate also works. Thanks Martin |

Hello list, I have some trouble with a Hisense wireless card, which mounts a Linksys INPROCOMM IPN 2220 chipset. I successfully included ndiswrapper in the DL boot cd, but now I got stuck with another problem. When I insert the card and run lspci, here's the output: pcilib: Cannot open /proc/bus/pci/03/00.0 lspci: Unable to read 64 bytes of configuration space Since there is no /proc/bus/pci/03 directory, I understand why the command complains. My impression is that there is some kernel parameter to tune, but I have no idea which. Does somebody have some hint ? I just don't want to burn 20 CDs trying blindly :) Thanks ! AR |

Hi, I have this problem with one of my DL servers - the time is out by exactly 8 and 1/2 hours. The system is running ntp and getting it's time from my internal ntp server - the time on this server is correct. according to ntpq, the servers are in sync. The (bad) server is running a custom DL 1.2.9 while the (good) server is running a standard 1.2.9. I have checked the time zone for both of them and they are the same - US/Mountain and /etc/localtime is a link to /usr/share/zoneinfo/US/Mountain I have also checked and UTC is set to false. The only other difference I have noticed is that the hardware clock is set to exactly the same time as the system time (on the bad server) whereas the hardware clock on the good ntp server is 1 hour off (which is to be expected due to daylight savings). Anyone come across this before? Anyone have any other suggestions where to look for a solution? Thanks Martin |

Hi All I have a problem with the last loging info screwing up: Wehn I login the system shows me information about the last login, but for some reason the login device info is screwed up. I have tried to delete the /var/log/wtmp file, but it didn't help. Here is a sample output of last: root tty1 Mon Mar 20 15:27 still logged in root *e>4H******O Mon Mar 20 15:27 still logged in reboot system boot 2.4.32-grsec Mon Mar 20 15:27 (00:01) wtmp begins Mon Mar 20 15:27:03 2006 Unfortunately, this output seems to include control characters and sometimes this screws up the whole console. I'm running the test version of 1.2.10 Any help would be great! Regards, Herbert |

Hi All I have problems starting the syslog-ng daemon on DL 1.2.10-2006-03-10. I fials with the following message: Starting system log daemonio.c: bind_unix_socket(): bind failed /jail/NTPD/dev/log (No such file or directory) Error initializing configuration, exiting. If I call syslog manually, it works fine. Is there any bug / workarround for this? Regards, Herbert |

Hello list, some months ago, a DL support for ndiswrapper was mentioned (see http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=13708284 ). So far however (correct me if I am wrong) ndiswrapper hasn't been included. Is it still in the 'roadmap' ? Does somebody have the ndiswrapper-enabled pre-release that was mentioned in that email (that would save me from rebuilding the whole system) Thanks in advance AR |

Ok. Finally, i found a smarter way to doing that. I mount the partition in a sub-folder of root folder and works very well. I mount 4 harddisks using this way, and works super. The only condition is that the user that logs in, cannot upload bigger files behind of this sub-folder, or the floppy disk can collapsing for low space. But, for assurance, i going to review the cvs and the scripts again for more solutions. Thanks for the help KacStereo Este mensaje esta libre de virus. |

I am guessing I either have to make my own devil-linux or wait for the new compile before I can get the conntrack working. So I went and read the http://www.devil-linux.org/documentation/1.3.x/ch03s01.html Downloaded and unpacked lfssystem-6.0-i686.tar.bz2 into a lfssystem directory and in this directory I try to run the CVS commands but end up with this # cvs -d:pserver:ano...@cv...:/cvsroot/devil-linux login Logging in to :pserver:ano...@cv...:2401/cvsroot/devil-linux CVS password: cvs [login aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if any) # cvs -z3 -d:pserver:ano...@cv...:/cvsroot/devil-linux co build cvs [checkout aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if any) Is the CVS not working or am I doing something wrong? Kind regards /Jacob |

How can > i configure vsftpd to access my hard disk (/dev/hda) by ftp? What script are you referring to? I've never used a script to configure vsftpd. I always just manually edit vsftpd.conf. See "man vsftpd.conf" for information on how to change the ftp root, and all the available config options. - BS |

I notice the at command (for one-off timed scheduling) is not available on DL. Is there an alternative installed instead? Dick |

Dear Jacob, Quick fix - I haven't test it yet. Replace ./patch-o-matic-ng-20060211/patchlets/CONNMARK/linux.patch by the attached patch before compiling. -- Best regards, Serge mailto:fi...@in... |

Dear Jacob, >> It's because of L7 extension. Unfortunately, they (connmark and >> layer7 extensions) are incompatible. >> > I have searched for any compability problem between these on the net, and I > cant find any. Rather the > oposite it seem many use the two together. > Can you point me to any place where this is discussed. I should be more correct, of course. Sorry for my poor English. So, the right statement is the following: after l7 applying the connmark fails due to kernel patch reject. Probably it can be fixed, but I didn't take care about it yet. -- Best regards, Serge mailto:fi...@in... |
