Hi, I got everything to work -- great !! Used a floppy image** The only problem was some "rm" commands in the initrd phase before Init had gotten the real OS started. http://www.thinman.com/devil-linux/snapshot.txt Rest of directory: http://www.thinman.com/devil-linux/ --My full Bochs in /opt/bochs including Devil Linux example: **note dotme file in /opt/bochs/bin to set paths bochs.tar.gz 118939462 K bochs.tar.gz.md5sum 47 K --Devil Linux Image directory: devil-linux-0.5a-bochs-img.tar.gz 45238977 K devil-linux-0.5a-bochs-img.tar.gz.md5sum 68 K My eLSD variant doesn't use these directories -- keeps all the modules in the final filesystem so it doesn't have this problem. http://www.thinman.com/eLSD/eLSD-0.2 eLSD-0.2.tar.bz2 42853018 K eLSD-0.2.tar.bz2.md5sum 51 K eLSD-v0.2-bochs-img.tar.gz 44838110 K eLSD-v0.2-bochs-img.tar.gz.md5sum 61 K eLSD_0.2_boot.iso.bz2 40020633 K Bochs seems kind of slow.. think gunzip and bunzip2 have a hard time in emulation. Hi Guys, I am happy to announce that I got Bochs going w/ my version of DL. Basically you need the Bochs source, and some svga and python wx libraries: http://www.thinman.com/bochs/bochs.lib.tar.gz And the eLSD/Bochs directory: http://www.thinman.com/eLSD/eLSD-0.2/eLSD-v0.2-bochs-img.tar.gz I will download the latest DL to see how the floppy part works... Its a start. Ultimately I will create a DL package for it to go with the GCC DL package I want to create. I am also starting work on a uClibc/Busybox nano-disrto w/ an eye to DL and LinuxBIOS John Ps ** everything works over here -- let me know if there is a problem :) ===== CXN, Inc. This email is to inform you of release '2.01a02' of 'cdrtools' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/cdrecord/ The changes in this release are as follows: A workaround was added for a Goldstar firmware bug that prevented Audio CDs from being created in TAO mode. A second attempt was made to support ISO-9660:1999 in mkisofs. Project description: cdrtools (formerly cdrecord) creates home-burned CDs with a CDR/CDRW recorder. It works as a burn engine for several applications. It supports CD recorders from many different vendors; all SCSI-3/mmc- and ATAPI/mmc-compliant drives should also work. Supported features include IDE/ATAPI, parallel port, and SCSI drives, audio CDs, data CDs, and mixed CDs, full multi-session support, CDRWs (rewritable), TAO, DAO, RAW, and human-readable error messages. cdrtools includes remote SCSI support and can access local or remote CD writers. This email is to inform you of release '1.1' of 'distcc' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/distcc/ The changes in this release are as follows: If run by root, distcc now changes to a different userid instead of refusing to run. It now checks for inadvertent recursion because of misconfiguration. A few other bugs have been fixed, and the manual has been updated. Project description: distcc is a program that distributes compilation of C code across several machines on a network, resulting in speed increases of 1.5 to 10 times. It does not require machines to share a filesystem, have the same libraries or header files, or superuser privileges. hi
umigumi looks nice.
but my plan is to make a script like move2cf.
(boot from devil cd and the execute move2cf)
(cf is like a ata harddisk
all i made is some changes so it can run lilo from same partition where
devil is stored.
at my embedded system is it at /dev/hdc1)
by the way ...
is it hard to include lilo and mke2fs to devil ? (i will do it
myself as soon as i find some time)
and
do you know systrace ? i read about it and i think this will make
devil hard as a rock.
regards
roland

Hey,
my compile went through without any problems.
I just looked at you initial email again and the problem could be a typo
I had in the Kernel config file.
Can you update your CVS files again:
cd /data/build && cvs update -d -P
also update the source:
./update_src
Please start completely over with the compile:
make mrproper unpack
make build install iso dist
--
Regards
Heiko

This email is to inform you of release '2.0.3' of 'Postfix' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/postfix/ The changes in this release are as follows: Postfix 2.0 broke relocated table lookup results with email not rejected at the SMTP port, causing the "User has moved to" text to be deleted. A widely used maildir filename generating algorithm was broken, and Postfix 2.0 gave incorrect FILTER_README instructions for sites that wish to disable virtual alias mapping before the content filter. Project description: Postfix is an attempt to provide an alternative to the widely-used Sendmail program. Postfix attempts to be fast, easy to administer, and hopefully secure, while at the same time being sendmail compatible enough to not upset your users. If you would like to cancel subscription to releases of this project, login to freshmeat.net and choose 'home' from the personal menubar at the top of the page. You'll be presented with a list of projects you're subscribed to in the right column, which you may cancel by highlighting the project in question and clicking the 'delete' button.
