This email is to inform you about the release of version '2.6.10' of 'lftp' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/lftp/ The changes in this release are as follows: Security fixes were made in the HTML parsing code. fxp between ftps sessions is now possible. A rare bug with access to freed memory in ftp was fixed. A bug in mirror was fixed, so that it no longer incorrectly appends the directory name when the target directory is the root. The Polish translation was updated. Project description: lftp is a sophisticated command line based FTP client. It has a multithreaded design allowing you to issue and execute multiple commands simultaneosly or in the background. It also features mirroring capabilities and will reconnect and continue transfers in the event of a disconnection. Also, if you quit the program while transfers are still in progress, it will switch to nohup mode and finish the transfers in the background. HTTP protocol and FTP over HTTP proxy are supported. Version 2.3.0 includes HTTPS and FTP over SSL support. Trove categories: [Development Status ] 5 - Production/Stable [Environment ] Console (Text Based) [Intended Audience ] End Users/Desktop [License ] OSI Approved :: GNU General Public License (GPL) [Operating System ] POSIX [Programming Language] C++ [Topic ] Internet :: File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Internet :: WWW/HTTP If you would like to cancel subscription to releases of this project, login to freshmeat.net and choose 'home' from the personal menubar at the top of the page. Hey all
Just came across something strange with respect to the man pages created on
the cdtree - in /usr/share/man
My /usr/share/man/man5 is not a directory, but rather an actual file. Happens
to be the syslog-ng.conf man page.
I think there is a bug in the copy_man function in build/functions
copy_man ()
{
BD=$1
[ -z "$BD" ] && BD=$(pwd)
for I in 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
do
cp -dp $BD/*.$I $CDDIR/usr/share/man/man$I 2> /dev/null
cp -dp $BD/*.$I.gz $CDDIR/usr/share/man/man$I 2> /dev/null
cp -dp $BD/*.$I.bz2 $CDDIR/usr/share/man/man$I 2> /dev/null
done
return 0
}
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if the manX directory does not yet exist when
this script is run, then instead of copying the file into the manX directory,
it will actually copy the file into a file called manX and hence the problem
I am seeing.
This causes a few problems later in the build/install process, but nothing
serious enough to warrent an exit error.
If I am correct, then I would suggest one workaround would be to create the
actual man directories before doing the cp - ie add the following line after
the do
mkdir -p $CDDIR/usr/share/man/man$I 2>/dev/null
thoughts?
Martin

It then rips out all the ads and other unnecessary columns, removes all the links and input boxes, and creates an HTML file of just the summary info. Keep in mind, this is just the summary page (one line per request). You cannot click on a request to get a more detailed description. That's not going to happen (from me anyway). This could be run in a cron job daily and the output make available somewhere. The question is: where ? Heiko: Would you like me to send you the script and you could put it on the devil-linux.org server, or would you rather I stick it on a web server of mine somewhere? - BS |

This email is to inform you about the release of version '3.0.1' of 'Samba' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/samba/ The changes in this release are as follows: This release fixes substitution problems with smb.conf variables, errors in return codes which caused some applications to fail to open files. General protection faults on Windows 2000/XP clients using Samba point-n-print features, several miscellaneous crash bugs, access problems when enumerating group mappings are stored in an LDAP directory, several common SWAT bugs when writing changes to smb.conf, and internal inconsistencies when 'winbind use default domain = yes'. Project description: The Samba software suite is a collection of programs that implements the SMB protocol for unix systems, allowing you to serve files and printers to Windows, NT, OS/2 and DOS clients. This email is to inform you about the release of version '5.1' of 'Net-SNMP' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/net-snmp/ The changes in this release are as follows: This release adds linkUp/Down traps, general notifications from monitoring events, speed improvements, new MIBs, more agent APIs, trap forwarding, better mib2c support (prompting you for information interactively), and many build environment improvements. Project description: The NET-SNMP (formerly UCD-SNMP) package contains various tools relating to the Simple Network Management Protocol including an extensible agent, an SNMP library, tools to request or set information from SNMP agents, tools to generate and handle SNMP traps, a version of the unix 'netstat' command using SNMP and a Tk/perl mib browser. It was originally based on the Carnegie Mellon University SNMP implementation (version 2.1.2.1), but has been greatly enhanced, ported and fixed and barely resembles the original package anymore. If I could go directly to the URL in lynx (or links) I could redirect it to a file and format the output. Except I can't make either text based browser go directly to the link because I'm not logged in, and I can't make them remember my login.
