> I have been looking at a few bt878 settings to see if I can solve a couple of problems I'm having. First off I have rolling bars on my svideo connected DVD player (NTSC usually). I have noticed that the setting InitialBDelay affects this quite a lot, by changing the value from the DScaler default of 114 to 112 the rolling bars disappear almost completely. According to the bt878 data sheet the values BDelay and ADelay should be set according to the source (PAL or NTSC etc.) The values specified in the data sheet are ADelay =112, BDelay=93 for NTSC and ADelay=127, BDelay=114 for PAL (B,D,G,H,I). I'm guessing that the Ini file setting InitialBDelay is related to BDelay. Does DScaler not set BDelay and ADelay when switching between PAL and NTSC? It does change the BDealy setting, but you must select "!save settings by format" in the video settings dialog to move off the defaults. > The other thing is to do with Black and White levels, I wonder if the FullLuma setting should be switched on, Yes it should, the default is on. with it switched off it seems to me if some of the black level is lost. Also while trying to fix a white crushing problem I noticed that the DScaler defaults for WhiteCrushUp and WhiteCrushDown are vastly different to the bt878 datasheet defaults of WhiteCrushUP = 15 and WhiteCrushDown = 559. I did a quick test of these values and it does appear to have fixed my problem but I will need to check properly. The values used are for the whole register not just the crush values. Also the ox22f in the docs is a typo and should be 0x2f.
