Hi Some you might remember me when I complained a couple of years ago that audio settings weren't saved properly per channel. That was since fixed in DScaler 4 and I've been happy daily user of the software since. Now I updated to digital tv by buying a DVB-C set top box from my sister (she will move to DVB-T apartment). This is mainly because of the pay-for-yearly-conax-card-fee and then get the Formula 1 broadcasts without any commercial breaks. The device / setup is working fine, and I can get Dscaler to get the audio trough the line in of the Hauppauge bt878 card and video trough its composite video in plug. I do not have a TV so this is how it will be with digital TV for me. Strangely, the audio settings saving doesn't seem to work with the Composite In -input. Every time I start DScaler, I do not hear sound, even if I have enable all audio settings saving options on a fresh DScaler 4.1.15 install. If I set audio standard: detect now, it will detect the correct audio standard, but the setting doesn't get saved anywhere. In the INI file, I get [BT8781_VideoInput1] BT8781_VideoFormat=0 and even if I paste the relevant audio standard entries from a same standard analog tuner channel entry from my old DScaler installation ini file, the settings are not read by Dscaler and sound is not enabled by default. I have now set bt card -> audio standard -> manual, and then in the same place "detect now" and the audio is then stereo and quality is fine. Then, after closing and restarting Dscaler, it still shows manual in audio standard, but the part of the menu that is showing the current standard, displays in grey "no standard", and I have "detect now" again. This is quite easy to do, but I'm sure that this is meant to work automatically. Strange that this isn't saved nor read from the ini file Any comments? -- Mika Takala |
