Hi John,
OK, I am happy to wait for Rob looking in the code. I can beta-test his
changes on my card for compatibility before the new release. (In New
Zealand, we have NICAM and A2 sound broadcast as well)
Also, I can test the teletext subtitles as we have it on the national
channels.
Yes, the card has a loopback cable to the soundcard.
I look forward to hear from you.
Cheers,
Tibor
PS: Does Connexant maybe have an updated piece of code? (just an idea, I am
sure you already asked them...)

Tibor
I'm sorry to say that I have no idea why the sound doesn't work on the
cx2388x cards and I'm not sure how I would go about fixing it. The code
that's currently in DScaler came from Connexant themselves and so
presumably works with some special prototype card. When the code was
first added we tried to reconcile various regspy dumps to the code to
try and work out what is going on but so far I haven't been able to
solve this problem.
I think Rob Muller is starting to look again at the sound code as he has
an appropriate card and so should be able to test changes much more
easily. I suggest you wait for Rob to make some progress on his side
and then we will try and work to getting NICAM working. Hopefully there
will be some basic problem that Rob will find and fix.
Does your sound card require a loopback cable for sound to work? If it
does I hold out some hope ofa fix in the reasonably near future, if not
it may take much longer.
John
