#415 Can't create display memory

Odd problem depending on system status (Vista 64, old Haupauge WinTV / BT848).

Most times, when Vista is already running since some time, I get the following error when starting DScaler:
----snip----
Can't create Display Memory
File .\BT848Provider.cpp Line 242
----snap----

Thing is that most times, when vista is freshly booted, this error does not occur and DScaler works just as advertised.
I also managed to get DScaler to run after this error-message occured by wildly changing the configuration here and there and then restarting DScaler. Trouble is, I did not (yet) find a no reproduceable way of getting it to work.

It certainly is not really a "out of memory" issue as I am using 4gb ram and no big apps are running.

Any hint would be highly appreciated.

    I have the same error:
    ERROR: Can't create Display Memory
    File C:\Source\deinterlace\DScalerBuild4116\DScaler\DScaler\BT848provider.cpp line 242

    Using:
    - Dscaler 4.1.12 or 4.1.16.
    - Hauppauge WinTV Theater
    - Latest Hauppauge Windows XP driver
    - Windows XP SP3
    - 2 Gb memory
    - AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ dual-core processor

When starting DScaler v4.1.16, it hangs for 10-20 seconds when displaying: "Hardware Init".

Earlier, this happened only when the processor was highly used.
Now on dual-core processor the error happens almost always.
It may happen, that the error happens since new Hauppauge driver (v3.49.24025.0) was installed.
Also the Windows XP SP2 was also updated to SP3, around the time when the error became permanent.

I hope this helps detecting and fixing the BUG.

BUG was caused by bad tv card driver installation.

    1) Uninstalled tv card driver (fully) using hcwclear.exe.
    2) Restarted computer.
    3) Reinstalled tv card driver.
    4) Installed DScaler v4.1.17, but I'm sure, not this solved the problem.
    5) Now DScaler starts fine.

    I had a false report.
    Unfortunately the error still exists.

After sending the computer to StandBy, then restoring, it seems, DScaler does not start anyway...

I too got this error on windows7 64 bit.No version of dscaler solves it.I had made Dscaler as a start up item and never close it.When I don't watch tv I just press M.The form is not responding to me.I have if future development happens or a patch is released for this by project, then this problem can be solved.Till then I have no signed driver for windows 7 64 bit.So I can watch only TV in the way I described above.I had no problem with windows XP SP3 32 bit and windows vista 32 bit.
