Hello,

Following the instructions on the DavMail website I am trying to configure it to run as a service, that way the user would not need to be logged in on a server for the port to be listening. After running the command in CMD, it seems to freeze after the "Service startup mode" line, but I cannot tell if it is actually finished or not.

Upon refreshing the Services window, it does appear, however it will time out and fail to start when trying to start it. I have attached some images that show the setup.

Thank you for the assistance.

I don't monitor this space often, most feedback comes through github now.

Anyway it's probably easier now to use sc create to register a service, see:
    https://davmail.sourceforge.net/serversetup.html

You may also have to switch to davmailservice64.exe as most machines are now fully 64 bits.

Thank you for the reply! I tried that as well, but it seems I run into the same error where the Service hangs for awhile and fails to start.

Is the davmail.properties required when running it as a service as well, or is that only for Linux servers where it is hosted?

Here is the full error text when trying to start the service:

Windows could not start the DavMai12 service on Local
      Computer.
Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control
      request in a timely fashion.
