Cool, I didn't know about this option, thank you. However in my case the file metadata that changed was in the MP3 container (volume loudness was normalised), not filesystem metadata. Ideally though it would take as parameters the full reference backup and all 4 of the differential backups in one operation to reduce total I/O that has to be done by an order of magnitude. I know that instead of doing full-from-diff 4 times it's easier just to do a full backup again--and that's what I ended up doing. Thanks for your help on this issue, I think I understand that making a full new backup is the way to go. Daniel B. |
