After downloading the cscope-15.6.tar.tar and renaming it to cscope-15.6.tar.gz (don't know why I had to do that!) and unzipping it with WinZip, I tried to use the configure process and kept getting errors. Finally I realized that some of the crucial files were in DOS format and bash was not liking the extra carriage return on each line, instead of just a newline.
