In the case of cscope -b -q, I think that'd be "sort" it's looking for. I'm a bit at a loss how you could have managed not to have any ''sort.exe" in the PATH of your Windows 2K box, though --- normally, this error would manifest as the Windows version of 'sort' complaining about options it doesn't understand, because you didn't have a Unix-style "sort" (like a port of GNU sort) on the PATH. A side note: You're running the DJGPP version of cscope, which is a DOS program. While that still works on Windows 2K and XP, those platforms are somewhat hostile to DOS programs.
