CSS override is broken for me in all versions following cr3-0-44-09.

My device is a rooted Nook Simple Touch, running android version 2.1.

Yes this is disappointing to me too.
Mine is a rooted Samsung GT-i5500 running Android 2.2.
Especially for ePub, the document's CSS should be honored, unless the user overrides them.
