No

Not to sure if this might be intentional, guessing its probably not.

Specific to v0.7 or v0.7a (not seen/heard with v0.6)

The music volume changes to a lower level(sound wise, seems ~50% lower) when certain in-game messages are displayed.

For example at location "Victoria Station"
-> [Look]:
--> [People]: Music volume goes down to a lower level.
--- Music volume goes back to normal when backing out of the People-message.
--> [Surrounding]: No change in music volume.

The same lower music volume change also happens, for example, in some of the [Call Taxi] messages.

  • Like during the message you get when you don't select a new destination.

ie: it seems to be related/limited to certain in-game message types.

Played around with cfg sound volumes: Working as exspected (No additional effect detected related to this case)
Played around with sound volume keys: Working as exspected (No additional effect detected related to this case)

Local Specifics:

  • Executeble: "cosp-0.7a-win32.zip" (cosp download).
  • Datafiles: "The Clue! + Profidisk (English)" (cosp download).
  • Linux (Mint 18.3 (64) ) + Wine 1.6.2
    -- installed into a copy of v0.6

    Adjustment:
For: --> [People]: Music volume goes down to a lower level.
Only applies when you get the message that there is nobody around.
(generally the case at the start of a new game)

Thanks! I guess that has to do with the voice. Usually the music volume is changed when voice is played. That shouldn't happen when there is no voice. I was so focused on the voice that I didn't test the game without it. I'll fix that.

I'm also working on the translation of the Profidisk, so we can finally have an English version of that, too.

lol. That thought did cross my mind, but not having installed a version with voice I did not follow up on that thought. ... Lazy me ;-)

      Profidisk: :-)
