It's probably another one of those things that just wasn't implemented for the 4.x version, but I think it's fairly important enough to need to be reimplemented. Tiles isn't really that great of a scaling method for certain images and although it's easy enough to change the source to a different method it's probably a feature other people would think is lacking. Of course I'm sure adding another variable to the gui is tedious.

    Hi,

this feature was dropped by design as of version 4 since the other scaling methods were so much slower and (in my opinion) produced equivalent results. I have never seen any image where Tiles doesn't give as good results as the other ones (and I have really looked carefully at the different scaling methods). Can you please link to an image where the difference is noticeable?

Ah, sorry, you're probably right. From what I can guess the images are probably slightly corrupted or PIL has some issues with them as different scaling doesn't really seem to affect the outcome. Bi-linear doesn't really seem to be noticeably slower than tiles, but your decision is reasonable I'm sure.

No, there is no big difference with Bi-linear and Tiles, but the difference in the resulting images are even smaller than the computational demands, which is why Tiles is used. Could you please send me any image which gets strange looking (unless it is private of course), so that I can see if there is anything in Comix that could be changed to fix it?
