Thanks David for the clarification. Now I sort of understand our limitations and try to work around. Hi all, After spending a few hours trying to debug the back-end Perl code, I realized that the following setup has fundamental drawbacks: 1) Windows (XP 64bit - probably does not matter) 2) Apache 1.3 3) mod_perl So the issues are: 1) Cannot execute the highlighted (no errors though) 2) Cannot execute svn.exe 3) UTF-8 (Hebrew/Arabic) topic titles are incorrectly displayed in the active topic list page (hit the "List Open Topics", do not just go to codestriker/codestriker.pl) 4) UTF-8 (Hebrew/Arabic) topic titles are incorrectly displayed in the main topic page. Apparently the "system(<command-to-execute>)" call always returns "No such file or directory" no matter what is passed to it - could be that this message refers to a missing library - cannot tell. At any rate, I have to disable mod_perl entirely now, and go back to the much slower cgi-bin implementation, which does not have any of these issues. If anyone knows how I can use mod_perl with Apache (ideally Apache 2.2) without these issues, please let me know. Thanks, Nick |

Hi I am now able to get Codestriker working from my local PC where I've installed Codestriker and also have the clearcase snapshot view location. To clarify this, I have in my Codestriker.conf, the repository definition as follows 'clearcase:D:\\Projects\\cfu_Stream3_Templates_2_int\\eDeveloper', and the D:\Projects\cfu_Stream3_Templates_2_int\eDeveloper is in this system. So all is good if I create the diff file from this PC and I also get the parallel view. Just a sample from my diff file is as follows ******************************** <<< file 1: D:\Projects\cfu_Stream3_Templates_2_int\eDeveloper\eDev_Source\eDeveloperWeb\WebContent\WEB-INF\conf\runtime\edeveloper.properties.dev@@\main\eDev_5_Integration\Stream1_Integration\Stream2_Integration\Stream3_Templates_Integration\9 >>> file 2: eDeveloper\eDev_Source\eDeveloperWeb\WebContent\WEB-INF\conf\runtime\edeveloper.properties.dev ******************************** -----[13-18 changed to 13-25]----- But if my colleague create the diff file, the parallel view is not working. Also her diff file has the file location to her snapshot view which is different to what's in codestriker.conf For e.g her diff file's got the following lines (as a sample) ******************************** <<< file 1: D:\Project\fya_Stream3_Templates\eDeveloper\eDev_Source\eDeveloperTestSuite\.classpath@@\main\eDev_5_Integration\fya_Stream3_Templates\0 >>> file 2: eDeveloper\eDev_Source\eDeveloperTestSuite\.classpath ******************************** -----[deleted 3-5 after 2]----- So my understanding of what's happening here is that, because Codestriker cannot match the file location between the diff file, and shared snapshot view defined in Codestriker.conf, it just cannot load the file from repository and the parallel view fails. My question is how can I resolve this problem? Is there a limitation that all developers should have the same path location as what's defined in the Codestriker.conf. For e.g in this scenario above all developers should have snapshot view starting at this location (D:\Projects\cfu_Stream3_Templates_2_int\eDeveloper) The only thing that's stopping me to get Codestriker fully functional is this issue. If anyone can throw some light on it, it will be greatly appreciated. Thanking you all Prad >>> <cod...@li...> 6/05/10 10:05 pm >>> Send Codestriker-user mailing list submissions to cod...@li... In theory it shouldn't be too bad. The LXR code is all in a small file in lib/Codestriker/Http/LxrLineFilter.pm. You could replace this code with opengrok-specific DB lookup code. If you check the code, you should be able to figure out what to do.. Hi,
I installed CodeStriker-1.9.10 on Windows integrated with
ClearCase. I had to do some modification in the code to make it work on
Windows, hence thought of sharing with all.
In lib file "ClearCaseDynamic.pm" under "getDiff" subroutine, it was running
"setview" command without check OS (Windows/ Unix). I put it under a "if"
condition.
if (! Codestriker::is_windows()) {
# Set the current view to the repository's dynamic view name.
$clearcase = ClearCase::CtCmd->new();
($status, $output, $errormsg) =
$clearcase->exec('setview', $self->{dynamic_view_name});
# Check the result of the setview command.
if ($status)
{
print $stderr_fh "CtCmd::exec($ctcmd) failed: $errormsg.\n";
return $Codestriker::OK;
}
}

Hi Senthilkumar, Have you defined the appropriate repository definition in your codestriker.conf file? If you are still stuck - email me off-list with your codestriker.conf file, and more information on what happens when you click on the "Parallel" link. For example, if there is an error, please send that to me. This is really a great suggestion. We all really like Codestriker a lot, and this addition would be so nice. I have not been able to find the documentation for LXR, at least, for Linux. If I can figure out the steps I need to do to compile and install it, I think the Codestriker part would not be a big hurdle. I'm going to try out configure, make and make install to see if it installs properly. The documentation on LXR is so sparse. If anyone has good doc on LXR, please post. Hi, I might sound a little weird, but can we have something like a link to declaration for all the functions or class or methods that we use in that source code that is displayed in the screen once we click on the parallel link and that are declared with in the scope that SVN. If any one have any idea of how it can be done or is there any module that can be helpful in doing so. What I am thinking is to maintain a index of all such decelerations in that SVN and checking in the code if there are any from that index and making it a link to the declaration but I am not sure is it a right way to start with or how this can be implemented.... Can you try this string? :pserver:myusername:123...@pr...:/cvsroot/project1 Cheers, David On Tue, Mar 2, 2010 at 5:59 PM, Abhishek Srivastava <abh...@gm...> wrote: > > Hello David, > > I am really stuck. > > If I use the format given by you, when I click on create topic I get the > error > > PAM Authenticate error: Authentication Failure > cvs [rdiff aborted]: authorization failed: server yy...@xy... reject > access to /cvsroot/myrproject for user abc. > > If I copy paste this string into my CVS Client, I get the same error. > > However I am able to connect to my CVS Server using the string which I had > posted in my earlier mail with no authentication errors (infact my admin > added me to the admin list just to resolve this issue). > > But then codestriker doesn't like the string which I had put before. > > Kindly help! > -- > View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/The-repository-value-set-for-CVS-is-Invalid-tp4617000p4659415.html > Sent from the Codestriker User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Download Intel® Parallel Studio Eval > Try the new software tools for yourself. Hello David, I am really stuck. If I use the format given by you, when I click on create topic I get the error PAM Authenticate error: Authentication Failure cvs [rdiff aborted]: authorization failed: server yy...@xy... reject access to /cvsroot/myrproject for user abc. If I copy paste this string into my CVS Client, I get the same error. However I am able to connect to my CVS Server using the string which I had posted in my earlier mail with no authentication errors (infact my admin added me to the admin list just to resolve this issue). But then codestriker doesn't like the string which I had put before. Kindly help! -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/The-repository-value-set-for-CVS-is-Invalid-tp4617000p4659415.html Sent from the Codestriker User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

The syntax you use is a bit different.. check the examples in the codestriker.conf file. You probably want: :pserver:myusername:12345678:@project1.cvs.mycompany.com:/cvsroot/project1 Cheers, David |

my code resides in a CVS repository. I can checkout the contents of the CVS repository using the Tortoise CVS client using the following CVS ROOT: :pserver;password=12345678:myu...@pr...:/cvsroot/project1 I have created an entry in the codestiker.conf for the CVS repository as @valid_repositories = ( ':pserver;password=12345678:myu...@pr...:/cvsroot/project1' ); When I try to create a topic, I enter values for title, description, module, email, reviewers, cc. But I get the error No filename or module/tags were entered. The repository value set for ":pserver;password=12345678:myu...@pr...:/cvsroot/project1" is invalid. Please correct this value in your codestriker.conf file, and try again. I have specified correct module name as defined in the CVS. my CVS ROOT string is also correct because I have copy pasted this from the Tortise CVS client. So why am I getting this error? -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/The-repository-value-set-for-CVS-is-Invalid-tp4617000p4617000.html Sent from the Codestriker User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Hi Abhishek, Firstly, I'd strongly recommend using Apache over IIS, as there are some issues at present with IIS. Start with CGI deployment to make sure it is all working first. Hello all,
I am trying to install codestriker on
1. Windows XP
2. Active State Perl 5.10.1
3. IIS 6
4. MySQL 5.1.44
I have unzipped the contents of code striker at C:\codestriker-1.9.10
I have created two virtual directories in IIS codestriker (points to
C:\codestriker-1.9.10\cgi-bin) and codestrikerhtml (points to
C:\codestriker-1.9.10\html).
After editing the codestriker.conf and running install.pl when I access
http://localhost/codestriker/codestriker.pl
I get an error "Oh Oh ... can't find codestriker.js, please check your
web-server config"
when I do a view source in this file I see that each and every URL is
pointing to
http://localhosthtml/codestriker.css
http://localhosthtml/codestriker.js
So obviously the server name is wrong. rather the correct URL is
http://localhost/codestrikerhtml/
However I don't know how to change this, since the codestriker.pl is an
auto-generated file.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Regards,
Abhishek
