This fix doesn't work when the tooltip is for a struct and one clicks on the +/- to expand/collapse the tooltip. I've tried on linux with wx2.8 and now I'm testing wx3.0. Have you used this patch for a long time?

p.s. sorry for the delay in answering :(

Ouch, yes quite a bit time :-)
Yes I have it applied for a long time.
I'm sure that I've tried this patch on a clean trunk at the time.
I'm not sure I've checked case with struct on tooltip ...
I'm quite sure there is more recent (let say 6 month/ 1 year) regression in FitColumns() behaviour, as I see some other race case in build message, thread search. But I don't know if it's a problem in trunk or only here. I will have no time to check before september [but as I'm currently replacing Eclipse by C::B at my work, I will probably get a look at all of these problem at one point]

The FitColumns calls looks to be even more broken in wx3.1.
If you find something interesting that can solve the problem, I'll be happy to look at it.

The original patch doesn't work, so closing. If you have a newer version don't hesitate to post it.
