hover over tabs in panel to get a dropdown list if tab bar is full, kinda like when the "ctrl + ," key is pressed. mostly because the full pathname is displayed /dir1/dir2/file.h and the list fills up fast if using multiple panes of tabs.

What? I can't find any meaning in this sentence. Can you please clarify what you want to achieve?

http://www.xup.in/dl,17979247/tabs-menu.png/ where the black box is in this picture should have the "ctrl + ," menu instead for the current pane/panel of tabs lists its on if the bar is full. hover over it or ctrl key + hover.

Sorry, but I still don't understand what the problem is. Try to use simpler and shorter sentances to explain the problem.

Probably he was asking for a drop down list of out-of-screen tabs when there are too many open files. Anyway, he didn't care to clarify this.

a list of open files in the current frame rather than all the frames+tabs because ctrl+ is overcrowded with a nice perspective going.

Sorry, I do not understand what you do really want, can you attach a picture?

sorry what i thought was ctrl + was actually ctrl < to open a files list. we need this to be specific to a frame rather than to all the frames when there are several files open. just by hovering over the tab bar this would pop up.
