In settings menu, a great number of compilers are proposed. Here, it's OK, because you must be able to set them (name, path, executables...).
But when you choose a compiler for a specific project, it could be nice to list only compilers that are (correctly ?) set. Like that, the list will be largely shorter, so it will be easier to choose the appropriate one. More, it will be cool if that list could be sorted alphabetically, or give the user a possibility to order this list as he wants.
IMHO sorting the list is a must, there are GNU compilers scattered over the list, and finding a compiler forces you to scan all the list.
I am against an option.
Only displaying valid compilers is ok for me... Sorting alphabetically should be standard...
Gerard, If you want to see a change like you are requesting see the following tickets:
1125
1126
You may also want to also check out tickets 1117, 1114 and 1111 as the areas the tickets relate to also form part of a total solution to the issue of compiler selection and usage when only a few are installed, but at the moment all are shown and the list is IMHO unusable and confusing for newbies.
If you want to check out Codeblocks with all of the tickets I haev references and others them check out the following forum post for more info:

I cannot remember if the code changes I have done sort the valid (aka detected compilers) or not...

Tested. Works well. Thank you again for your work.
I have found that my first post on this long compiler list was 10 years ago. Oups ! But it was lost in the forum posts. And here, 3 days to solve it ! So, many many thanks for your reactivity.
