Hi, I would like to have an easy way to manually set intra-project dependencies (i.e from files within a same project) which C::B cannot build by itself.
One example: I have a resource.rc file which references a resource.xml file thru special windres synthax. Codeblocks does not set any dependency of resource.rc from resource.xml automatically, with the result that everytime I modify the .xml I have to rebuild the project, which would otherwise look up to date to C::B.
By now I found a "hack" to achieve this, i.e manually add resource.xml to the project.depend file under the entry for resource.rc, but as such it may not be reliable because the .depend file may be eventually re-generated.
On the user forum I was suggested to create a batch script to "touch" resource.rc if resource.xml has a more recent timestamp, and to launch it in the pre-build actions, but that is honestly a too complex solution for my current skills and however I think that C::B should offer an easier way to achieve the same goal in an user friendly manner. An option to specify a manual dipendency of a project file from another project file would be welcome, unless you can figure out a better solution. Thanks.
Hi folks, really nobody wants to add this feature ?
