    Hello Steven,

I seem to be having much trouble trying to create an image of a 1TB M.2 NVME drive that belongs to a Dell XPS15 9560.

I have tried using the alternative stable ubuntu based Clonezilla Live release (alternative stable - 20170905-zesty) on the system directly and it firstly splits the screen in half where one half of the right side of the screen is blank and the left side is split into two fragments the right fragment being cut off and displayed on the left side half of the half of the screen. (this laptiop is the 4k touch one)

Although this was an issue i still managed to go through the options, but when I reached the option to create an image after setting up my home directory and drive the NVME drive was not visible. This was through the entire process which included initial discovery.

The Artful and Bionic builds failed to boot even after running makeboot64 twice, erasing and clean installing twice also. Even tried using Makeboot64 from the zesty release and they still failed to boot.

Any help would be much appreciated,

    Thanks in Advance,
    Victor M.

I Managed to figure it out. On this system RAID is enabled by default (very odd since there is only 1 M.2 drive in this system), and as a result Clonezilla is unable to read the drive. This should not be the case, but for some reason it is.

In order to fix this you have to go into UEFI BIOS settings and switch the Controller mode from RAID to AHCI. Then only will the drive be visible and discoverable in Clonezilla.

Do Not disable Secure Boot, since this will cause the system to run into other problems once the system image is restored.

Also, I used the alternative stable - 20170905-zesty release to do so. Artful and Bionic still never worked in my case.

    Thanks for your feedback.
"Artful and Bionic still never worked in my case." -> If you meant it can not boot for the secure boot machine, this issie has been fixed in Clonezilla live 20180102-*.
