I hoped just adding --with-module=pcre to my configure would work but it didn't. I do have pcre installed, e.g., yum install pcre ends up saying Package pcre-8.10-1.fc14.x86_64 already installed and latest version Nothing to do The configure command: $ ./configure CC='gcc -m64' --with-libsigsegv-prefix=/usr/local --disable-maintainer-mode --with-debug --with-module=rawsock --with-module=pcre build-dir The command above seems to have worked ok but the output shows pretty much nothing related to pcre. The output of the subsequent make ends like this: checking how to link with libpcre... -lpcre configure: ** PCRE (Headers) checking pcre.h usability... no checking pcre.h presence... no checking for pcre.h... no checking pcre/pcre.h usability... no checking pcre/pcre.h presence... no checking for pcre/pcre.h... no configure: error: cannot find PCRE headers make[1]: Entering directory `/home/don/hg/clisp/build-dir/pcre' make[1]: *** No rule to make target `clisp-module'. Stop. make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/don/hg/clisp/build-dir/pcre' make: *** [pcre] Error 2 $ locate pcre.h => /usr/src/debug/glib-2.26.0/glib/pcre/pcre.h So maybe I have to tell it where this is installed? (How?) I also notice in /build-dir/pcre/config.log some things like this: configure:3152: gcc -m64 -E conftest.c conftest.c:9:28: fatal error: ac_nonexistent.h: No such file or directory compilation terminated. configure:3152: $? = 1 configure: failed program was: | /* confdefs.h */ | #define PACKAGE_NAME "pcre" | #define PACKAGE_TARNAME "pcre" | #define PACKAGE_VERSION "1.0" | #define PACKAGE_STRING "pcre 1.0" | #define PACKAGE_BUGREPORT "clisp-list" | #define PACKAGE_URL "" | /* end confdefs.h. */ | #include <ac_nonexistent.h> |
