Sure I could do this.  It's not that much work, actually.

Yes, though whether releases are as often as monthly will depend on
the amount of fixes going on.  That seems to be a lot based on
ChangeLog:

Sam, I'm starting to appreciate how much of your time is spent. :)

If we're in a mode where fixes are "pulled" from the main developemnt,
it will be necessary to identify them as such.  I think I can do that
by reading CVS log messages which are pretty detailed generally.

Sounds good to me.  If I run across problems w/ merging (see my
earlier comments about some fixes being incompatible) we can decide to
just exclude them.
