Hello, Does anyone know how to enable a 'Timing Diagram' on Logisim? I've searched their User Manuel and web and it doesn't seem that creating a timing diagram is supported. On the Web some very old posts refer to 'Chronograph' function which creates timing diagrams, but that function is no longer available on the latest version of Logisim I down loaded. Any feedback is appreciated. -Glen

The solution is to download the .jar file instead of the Windows EXE version. Install a JRE like Microsoft's rendition of OpenJDK (link - hope it's permanent). Get the .msi package and install it like any other application. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/java/openjdk/download Download the logisim app as a .jre even though it says Linux and MacOS. It's Java. It'll run. Double click the .jre file and enjoy Logisim.

Hi, I am new in LogiSim and wanted to simulate a small circuit shown in the attachment as png. The counter CntEqu shall count how many consecutively equal data are input from ROM. The counter value together with the 4bit data is output with register RegOut. The D-Flipflop FFL shall flag if new data are available. In simulation of this circuit I found two errors. I used Logisim Windows 2.7.1. Error 1: The counter CntEqu is missing the first count. The synchronous 4bit counter 74161 has two enable...

You can do a simple integrated circuit with input's and output's pull behavior being pull down. It will convert error and floating to 0 and keep 1 and 0 as is.

When I try to open Logisim on my MacOS (Catalina) with Java 12.0.2, I get the following error: To open “Logisim”, you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime. In fact, I also tried Java 11 and Java 8 to get it to work, but they both also failed. Since only one version of Java can run at one time, this is an issue for anyone who needs to run Java 8+ and Logisim. This seems to be an issue with other open source apps as well, requiring a Java SE 6 dependency on Catalina. However, Catalina is incompatible...

When editing the sub-circuit icon or symbol with pins, is there a way to put a dynamic display like some of the stock sub-circuits have? I would like to be able to show the status of my sub-circuits in a similar way as the rigester's from the Logisim library. They show their contents on thier icons. I have a circuit for a custom register with control lines as part of a CPU design and would like to be able to see what the register is holding on it's icon.

Carl or one of the other devs tried to add two way pins but there was a problem somewhere in the simulator he could not quite track down. The only way currently is to cheat slightly. Create two pins inside the subcircuit that are next to each other on the component view as shown on the attached screenshots. Then when you wire to them, run a wire from the inner to the outer connector, so it looks like one connection! It works better on components with filled shapes which hide the extra wires, as shown...

Hello, I've been creating some complex circuits on Logisim lately and I've ran into a weird problem that I haven't manage to fix. On the circuit there are moments where some signals are unknown, the blue wire, the thing is that I have an "enable" that depends on one of those and when it's unknown the enable is at 1 so I makes all the rest go wrong. Is there any way to tell Logisim with a component or setting that unknown is 0 so the enable doesn't active? Thanks
