In util/tcpip.c in crTCPIPAccept() we call crGetHostname(), which typically returns something like "foo.bar.com". A few lines later, we truncate this to just "foo": temp = crStrchr( my_hostname, '.' ); if (temp) *temp='\0'; I found that this caused a problem when trying to run Chromium on my laptop when not connected to any network. Removing the truncation code fixed things (and there's no apparent negative consequence when I'm again connected to a network). So, I'm wondering why the truncation code is there in the first place. I've disabled it in CVS. Let me know if this causes a problem for anyone. It should be immediately apparent if it is a problem. -Brian |
